Management Issues & Declining Living Experience
I have been living here for the last two years, and the last several months (end of 2024 to now) have been notably challenging. Maintenance has become increasingly unreliable, with limited staff capable of effectively addressing issues. For instance, my apartment experienced a leak that persisted for nearly three weeks, and this problem appears to be common among other residents as well. It has taken seven months to address the root cause of the leak, with uncertainty about whether the issue... will recur while repairs continue.
The office staff's approach to community events has also changed significantly. Events, which were previously held on weekends and more accessible to the community, are now exclusively planned during typical work hours on weekdays, limiting attendance for many residents. I provided feedback in February, requesting that events be scheduled outside of traditional work hours, but no action was taken. I followed up with a request to the manager a couple months later, who responded that the suggestion would be considered. However, when I proposed adjusting some April events to accommodate residents' schedules, the request was declined. It is difficult to understand why event times could not be adjusted, even slightly, over a month-long period.
Additionally, the front door has been out of service since November, and frequent fire alarms going off without cause have created ongoing inconveniences for residents.
This community was once an enjoyable place to live, but the management's recent lack of responsiveness and effectiveness has impacted the living experience for me and I'm sure many other residents.

Notch 8 really does stand above the rest in terms of quality, community, and comfort. I’ve been a resident now for almost a year and I feel very fortunate to have found Notch 8. My apart is modern and efficient, the building is well maintained, and I’ve never once struggled to find a parking spot. Add in the glorious views and close proximity to the metro, and I couldn’t ask for a better residence.

Notch 8 is a place that is conveniently located to DC, Delray on the Avenue, Old Town and to shopping (Target, Best Buy, HomeGoods, PetSmart, TJMaxx, Total Wine and more all within walking distance). While the building is one of the first in the Potomac Yard area, it has aged somewhat but is well maintained and has the normal amenities as other apartment buildings. I think I good bang for the buck. Oh, and did I mention that it is across the street from Potomac Yard metro station? Also you... can catch the Dash bus or Metroway right at the corner of the building to get around. How convenient is that?
