How Is This Rating Determined?

Not what accepted, and A LOT of issues.

I previously was trying to be fair and patient with a new building (The Miles). I cannot justify that anymore. I am giving it a 1-star rating because the negligence here has become dangerous.

As of February 3, 2026, we are dealing with yet another fire alarm event. The cause? A burst pipe... again. It is the same story every time—water leaks, alarms blaring, and no permanent fix. On top of that, the elevators are constantly going down. We are paying "luxury" prices to live in a building where...
we can't sleep or (do our jobs in the current moment) because of the alarms.

The toll this is taking on us is unbearable. My wife is constantly stressed out and on edge, and our puppy is absolutely terrified. It breaks my heart to see them like this in our own home.

The previous reviewer was correct: public records confirm this building FAILED its fire safety inspection. Now, combine that with unreliable elevators and fire doors that don't close properly? We are living in a fire trap.

I am tired of the lies, the "band-aid" fixes, and the total lack of accountability from Greystar.

The complaints about aggressive dogs are 100% accurate. My own puppy was attacked by a known aggressive dog that was allowed off-leash by their owner. Management has failed to remove this threat, and my wife is now terrified to walk our dog because this animal will take every opportunity to charge at them in common areas. We are forced a lot of the times to carry our pet through the halls for his own safety. On top of that, the grounds are filthy; I sent a formal email just yesterday (02/02/2026) and today (02/03/2026) regarding the excessive dog waste, to include on the sidewalk.

Thank you for taking the time to share your concerns. We sincerely apologize for the repeated disruptions and the stress this has caused you, your wife, and your puppy. Your safety and comfort are our top priorities, and we take these issues very... seriously.

Our maintenance and building operations teams continue to work diligently to resolve the recent fire alarm and water system disruptions. Permanent repairs have been completed to address the underlying causes of the pipe bursts and to help prevent them from recurring.
We have been working closely with the Fire Marshal throughout this process, and they continue to confirm that we are meeting all requirements for properly maintaining our systems. In addition, they’ve acknowledged that we have gone above and beyond by taking extra precautionary measures intended to reduce the likelihood of future issues.

Our elevators also undergo regular inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure consistent reliability. We’ve implemented additional monitoring to quickly identify and address any concerns, helping to minimize downtime.

The Miles has a great location, beautiful apartments, and is just an awesome place to live.

The property management, and maintenance teams are super proactive and responsive.
I have had nothing but positive experiences with them and they have made The Miles feel very welcoming from day one.

Only been a resident for a few weeks but it’s been wonderful. The leasing staff is very communicative and attentive to the residents at The Miles. The building spaces are clean and kept up. I feel safe in my space and communal areas. Not a single thing I’m unhappy with at the moment!
