We were moved into a filthy apartment that didn’t have a kitchen counter, laundry room door, a working toilet, a working AC. Had a broken cabinet door and stains all through the tubs/shower. Thankfully, after a year of us living here, they finially “got the kitchen cabinet in.” (Longest shipping I’ve ever heard of...) We also had a leak in our apartment. The manager got the roof fixed, but no one ever came in to fix the damage in the apartment. So now, our hallway wall has severe damage that no... one has fixed. Our smoke detectors had to be replaced a few times because they didn’t work well. Our bathroom cabinet broke because it’s cheaply made, and it took maintenance a month to fix it. In just the 15 months we’ve lived here we’ve had 5 different managers pass through. Half of them aren’t even here when they claim they’ll be here! The reason I decided to write this now, is because, We are currently on our second year of living here and it is 32 degrees outside and our heater hasn’t worked for three days now! Their maintenance man has been by to “fix” it twice now, and it will only work for 3 hours after he leaves. It is currently blowing out COLD air in my apartment. Our apartment hasn’t gotten above 64 degrees. I also have a 1 y/o with a runny nose because of this. This is something that is a health hazard and they are required to fix the heater by law...not band-aid it for a few hours every day! We are good tenants. We always pay our rent early, are kind to other residents, and I keep this apartment clean and nice at all times. If we had better maintenance that actually knew how to fix these things the right way and paint the walls correctly, I would really enjoy living here. Unfortunately, if you want a place to live that you don’t always have a long list of repairs that need to be fixed, then this isn’t the place for you. Not having heat in the apartment is a serious issue. I’ve spoken to the head-property manager, Liz, this morning, and she says she will send by the same maintenance guy that has came over 2X already, this will be his 3rd time coming over. She says it’s not always a “simple fix”...but I’ve lived in 3 other places and have never had this issue with a heater before. If it’s not so simple, then maybe they need to bring someone else in who may not think so “simply”! Anyways, It’s been an hour and he still hasn’t came by. And sadly, even when he does come by, I doubt he will actually fix the problem.
