After touring 10 other communities, I still came back to The Devon after over a year. The location can’t be beat, and the amenities for the price are incredible.

Just wanted to say we’ve been loving our new apartment so far. The amenities are amazing, everything has been super clean and well maintained, and honestly every person we’ve encountered here has been incredibly friendly and welcoming. Moving can be stressful, so it’s been really nice feeling comfortable and at home already. Super excited to be here!

The apartment itself is solid overall, but there are definitely some downsides. Since it’s located near Glenwood Ave and the nearby college scene, the hallways frequently smell like weed and parties can get pretty loud late into the night. Depending on your lifestyle, being close to the bars could either be a perk or a nuisance.
Maintenance has also been somewhat unreliable — the elevators have gone out several times during my stay, which has been frustrating. Security is another concern. The... exterior doors are often left unlocked or the locks don’t work properly, so it’s easy for non-residents to get into the building. Package theft has also been a big issue because there isn’t any secure system for mail deliveries.

Thank you for your feedback. We are always here to address any concerns you may have. For parties we do have an after hours security patrol team that can be called to assist. In order to reach them please call our direct office number and follow the... prompts. They will be sure to respond. We unfortunately can not promise that we will not experience technical difficulties however, we are here to address situations such as the elevator as soon as possible. We do have our Amazon Hub located in the parking garage which is locked with a surrounding gate. We do recommend adding to your delivery notes that you would like for your package to be delivered inside of the Hub. This will help the delivery driver know not to drop the package off outside of the hub. Please reach out to the office you would like any additional information.

The front office has been helpful and the move in process was very smooth. The hallways are decent and the gym/public areas are all kept nice and clean.

I was excited about living here as the apartments themselves are nice, but it is not an enjoyable community to live in. If you have lost your ability to smell, it may deserve a 3-star rating. The halls smell like marijuana and trash most hours of the day. Fortunately, my next-door neighbors don't smoke inside, but my above neighbors make up for it as my entire living room smells when they smoke out on their balcony. The stairwells don't smell like smoke too often which is nice to get a break... from, but you get that scent replaced with the smell of dog pee there.
Maintenance is great for apartment issues which is nice, but problems with the building is another thing. The sole interior elevator was just out of order for an entire month and 3 days. There was a large period where the freight elevator was out too, leaving none operable.
The apartments are nice enough but for comparable prices I would opt for one of the newer, better managed communities in the area.
