I was in a bit of a time crunch. I needed to find a nice apartment for me and my 5 year old twins as soon as possible. I applied for this apartment and I didn’t hear back for almost a week until I called the office several times. I was told that I was approved at that given time. A few days later I called back because my move in date changed online. The apartment that I was approved for was still be occupied and the tenant was being evicted. They wouldn’t turn in the keys. I was told it’ll be... another week. Two days before my new move in date...they changed my move in date again. At this point I was really disappointed because I really wanted to stay at this apartment. There was no other apartments offered to me and they don’t communication well. At first this place didn't seem bad, but I quickly needed to call maintenance to fix a few things. The most pressing was an after-hours call about leaking water that didn't lead to it getting fixed until I contacted the leasing office weeks later. It had happened again and I hadn't heard back about it getting fixed after I reported it initially. The leasing office rarely responds to the first email. Worst of all is the construction, and in particular the ceiling/floor above me. I'm on the... first floor and I can constantly hear nearly every move the upstairs neighbors make. Every step across the floor, conversations, closing cabinet doors, high-energy dog, and even them shifting on the couch or in bed. Some noise is to be expected with upstairs neighbors, but not this loud and not everything they do. It wakes me up at night and is unacceptable. I sent three emails to the leasing office before I got a response to my most recent complaint about this. I was told that at the end of my lease they could transfer me to a third floor unit. It took more than two weeks for them to come back and tell me they wouldn't cover the cost of movers.
