an ideal place to call home

I can't give five stars because the apartment is drafty and the electric heating bill is staggeringly high. But that aside, I love my little one bedroom apartment: massive closet, full sized kitchen with a dishwasher, separate bedroom/living room, and lovely sunny colored walls. I think the thing I like best about my apartment is actually outside--the gorgeous tree right outside my window. While moving in my mother said, "it looks like the tree of life." It's that picturesque. The shade keeps... the apartment nice and cool in the summer and the branches block the view of the grungy apartment buildings across the street. From the inside you'd never guess I lived on a city block. The other thing I love about it is the location. It's quiet in the apartment but I'm a five minute walk from the hustle and bustle. I can walk two blocks in one direction and get the most amazing Korean food, visit quirky little thrift shops, or play darts at a seedy dive bar. Or, if I choose to go the other way I'm surrounded by huge old Victorian houses, tree-lined streets, and little neighborhood specialty shops selling flowers, fresh fish, and kosher goods. It's an ideal place to call home.
