It sits at the base of the Santa Cruz Mountains, so reaching the beaches in Santa Cruz, is a short 25-minute drive away. The delightful downtown has lots of great coffee shops, breakfast joints and boutique shops. Two outdoor highlights of this city are the Los Gatos Creek Trail and the Vasona Lake County Park. The trail is 9.5 miles long and many cyclists, runners and skaters make use of the trail each day. Vasona Park offers paddle boats, picnic areas and lots of lawn space for relaxing.
