I’ve lived at The Pearl of Viera since November 2023, and my experience has been one billing nightmare after another. Management imposed multiple charges (including inflated trash fees and unexpected utility costs) that weren’t disclosed in my lease. Whenever I tried to resolve these discrepancies, my emails went ignored for days—or I got conflicting explanations that never added up.

Even when they finally admitted some charges were errors (like pet rent for my service dog), other mysterious... fees popped up right after. I compared ledgers with my neighbors and realized I’m the only one facing these excessive fees. Management promised to fix things or consult their “regional director,” but nothing changed. They also bombarded me with irrelevant emails about car detailing services instead of addressing my billing concerns.

I am writing to warn potential renters about the terrible experience my mother has had at the Pearl of Viera, a purported “luxury” apartment. She moved in now 10 days ago, and since then, she has had nothing but problems.

The first problem was that the A/C didn't work. My mom put in a maintenance request, but it took them 2 days to come and fix it. In the meantime, she had to stay in a hotel because her apartment temperature was in the mid-90s.

The second problem is that the dishwasher, ice... maker, and fridge are all broken. The dishwasher doesn't turn on, the ice maker doesn't make ice, and the fridge is making loud chirping noises. My mom has put in multiple maintenance requests for these appliances, but they still haven't been fixed. She has arthritis in her hands, and continues to have to wash every dish, utensil, and pan that she uses, rather than being able to use appliances that she has paid for.

In addition to these problems, the management team at The Pearl is non-responsive. My mom has called and stopped in several times, and placed multiple maintenance requests, but, besides the A/C, none of these issues have yet to be addressed.

I would strongly advise anyone considering renting at The Pearl to look elsewhere. This complex is poorly managed, and the maintenance team is absent. You will be better off renting somewhere else.

I hope this review will help potential renters avoid the same problems that my mother has had. If you are considering renting at The Pearl of Viera, please do your research first. I moved here in October of 2021 and everything was great. The staff were very friendly and helpful during the move in process. Everything changed once it went under new management. All the staff from when I first moved in were all gone and the new staff members were very rude. They literally will go into your unit without consent or notice which is against the law. It has been a nightmare living at the Pearl for the past 9 months. I’ve had to call maintenance well over 30 times for an ongoing issue with our AC that never works. There has been times where I went nearly 2 weeks without AC or a week without it because they cannot fix the AC. They do not compensate by the way! This apartment was poorly constructed. Our kitchen sink has fallen through the counter multiple times. The flooring peels off of the floor.
