Fine place to live but management stops responding to emails once you sign the lease & move in

I have lived in Riva Terra apartments for four years now, and have loved the community, location and the management staff there. However, management changes just about every six months. In the past year, the management team has gone from helpful to unresponsive. Don't be fooled by the smiles and positive attitudes at the door when you sign up for the lease. It's owned by large corporation that only cares about signing tenants. No value is put on long-term tenants, whenever you need something,... its an answer of "I can't do anything about it"

Parking is awful if you have more than one car, but don't want to pay the extra $100 for a designated spot every month.

The maintenance is even worse. We have put in requests to fix absolutely necessary items (in the past year) like microwaves and washing machines. It took the team 3 months with several reminders to replace our microwave. It took two months for them to fix our washing machine.

With Riva Terra, its all about your money. Customer service is not a priority. Read More

I really love our apartment. It has everything we want and need. The community has two pools, a gym, and a beautiful lake with fountain. Our apartment has plenty of room, great laminate wood flooring, large closets, in-unit washer and dryer, and a great elementary school is two blocks away. I couldn't be happier!

The complex is located just 10 minutes away from downtown San Carlos, Redwood City, Belmont, San Mateo, and to the Caltrain Station. Easy access to 101 and approximately a 30 minute (if no traffic) drive to SJ and SF. A Nob Hill, Starbucks, Bank of America, and restaurants a mile away.Rent payments and service requests can all be made online. Covered parking and additional parking available, if you are trying to find parking after 11PM it can sometimes be more challenging. The office staff is... friendly, answer your questions right away, and most importantly, actually remembers who you are. I moved in Riva Terra in Apr, 2015. I like to live here though the rent is a little bit high. This apartment is in Redwood Shores, a quiet and clean place surrounded with a lot of well shaped green plants. The apartment itself is a little bit noisy because of the swans around the lake. Safety won't be a problem since redwood shores is relatively isolated from other cities and there is hardly anyone from the outside coming in to comit a crime. There is also a heated pool with spa which is my... favourite. My 1b1b room has washer and dryer in it, but you have to buy a microwave yourself. The room is reasonably arranged and has enough space to put furniture. It is 3-5mins drive to 101 and relatively easy to get to SF or San Jose. In sum, this is a good place to live in. Read More
