I recently moved into Newport Ridge Apartments in June, and my experience has been far from satisfactory. Upon moving in, I discovered a severe pest and insect infestation, including black widows, wolf spiders, and roaches. The situation was so dire that roaches were visible in the power sockets, indicating they were living within the walls.
Despite my complaints to management, their response was limited to a single complimentary extermination, which proved ineffective. I ended up having to... sleep in a tent in my living room and stayed in a hotel for the remainder of my time there. As a result, I didn’t even unpack my furniture or use the kitchen. The situation was so untenable that I gave notice immediately.
To my dismay, I was hit with a $6k+ charge to move out, and they deducted half of my $1,350 deposit for 'cleaning' and 'painting,' even though I barely lived in the unit and didn’t damage or alter anything. To add insult to injury, the unit is now listed for $200 more per month.
My experience with Newport Ridge Apartments has been extremely disappointing, and I feel the Irvine Company is more focused on profit than on providing a quality living environment. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend renting from them.
