Bad Management
The "renovations" have been horrible. They have only 2 guys doing the "renovations" and they are incredibly slow. I mean slow. They have been working here for over 16 months, a long time. They still have about 9 out of 24 units to "renovate" so they will be here for a long long time. They leave their mess everywhere and act horrible to the people who live here. Not a pleasant place to live. I saw people who have lived here for years move out instead of renewing the lease. The grounds are not... kept up. Weeds, overgrown plants, trash, construction mess, the laundry is filthy and gross, dog turds, just horrible. The place is always noisy. Construction, thin walls, people outside all the time. Over 16 months all this is happening. Not a nice place to live. Neighbors smoke dope in their cars, strangers from off the sidewalk walk through, not a safe place. Rent is expensive for what you get. You don't even get a grill. I guess too cheap to buy propane. Management doesn't care about the people who live here.

Horrible experience - rude management, walls paper thin, noisy, dirty
Where do I begin? I lived here for 16 months, and it was nothing but problems from the very start. The area is noisy, and crime-ridden, there were drug baggies and used syringes around the property, termites in the walls coming through into the apartment, improperly installed appliances that broke or malfunctioned, flooding from an old bad pump that created black mold and a poorly installed garbage disposal in the sink with no clamp on the hose from the dishwasher so it flooded my kitchen,... then it wasn't even mounted from the bottom and all my dishwater flooded the apartment once again. The repair crew treated me like it was my fault whenever they had to come fix their own mistakes, and they are not honest about deposit money and do everything they can to gouge you for whatever they can keep.

Run the other way, as fast as you can.
I don't know which is worse; the nasty apartment manager, the disrespectful work crew, the overpriced rent or the riff raff neighbors. The walls here are so thin you can hear EVERYTHING through them, night and day. There have been multiple insect infestations, including bed bugs, termites, and roaches. the management refuses to acknowledge the problems, and if you ask them to fix something that doesn't work they try to blame you for it. I suggest looking elsewhere, where it's quiet,... respectful and worth your money. There is none of that here.

Run the other way!
They've recently "remodeled" their units with sub-standard elements, and are charging top rent while providing absolutely no amenities whatsoever in units so small it is clear that they are for people who don't actually own anything. Also, the manager, Marie, is sullen and mean, and does everything she can to keep your money when it's time to move out. Their work crew messes up more than they fix, and leave the damage for you to clean up - if they ever fix the issues at all. I have lived... there for 16 months, and still never had a handle to open my windows in case of a fire, no shut-off knob for my gas stove, termites coming through the walls (which they refuse to address), and they flooded my apartment with an old non-functional pump for HVAC condensation costing me hundreds of dollars in cleaning and repair fees for an antique rug, and when I returned from their mold remediation crew and carpet cleaners I was missing a $1220 watch. They're almost nice when you give them the rent, but after that they treat you like dirt. I was out of the apartment for 9 days because of black mold, and they told me they would only allow 3-days rent deduction. I met them halfway at 5 days to be nice, and now when I am moving out almost a year later they are mad and say I now owe them the extra two days just to retaliate against my moving out. Seriously - I do NOT recommend renting from them, ever.

Compact, efficient and up to date
If you're looking for a compact, newly renovated, apartment in a convenient part of town at at reasonable rates then this might be just what you're looking for. Sure, there's no pool but most pools in Phoenix are empty most of the time anyway, and you won't have to worry about who may have peed in it. Conveniently located in the Melrose District, on the bus line and just a few short blocks from the Light Rail, it isn't a chore to get where you need to go from here. Management is conscious and... aware of what goes on here, without being intrusive. It definitely feels safe in our building.
