Good location, love the layout, but beware of extreme weather
I love my current apartment--it's a good spot if you're not super interested in being all the way downtown or too far into the suburbs. It's a 15-20 minute drive to just about anywhere in town, and walking distance to a few need-to-go places as well (Copps, Starbucks, Great Dane, Anytime Fitness, Walgreens, etc). I love the heated garage and the size/layout of the apartment, plus it's pet friendly for those people who care about that.
HOWEVER, there is not central heat/air. It just has the... wall-unit, which would probably be okay except that in the apartments which have a lofted design, I have found it to be nearly impossible to get the upstairs at a good temperature when it is the dead of winter or the height of summer. No matter how many fans I use or how much I blast the cold air, the upstairs is always significantly hotter in the summer. At least in winter it can be handled a little more since heat rises, but as someone who doesn't just leave the unit on all day while I'm gone, it's pretty brutal at first.
Also, this complex doesn't have any sort of pool/workout center/clubhouse or anything, but that wasn't super important to me. There is a courtyard type area where people can run their dogs around though!
Other than that, I love the apartment and I would recommend the location for anyone who wants the nice middle-ground location in Madison/Fitchburg.
