I've lived here for almost a year now and unfortunately I will be here for another year as I misread my renewal agreement. I'll deal with it but just incase you were thinking of moving... here are my dislikes and likes:
-Dislikes- Residential Parking Pass $25/month Rarely able to find decent parking at 6:00pm when I come home from work. Have had to frequently spend $30 at the diamond lot that enters onto the property for overnight parking.
Laundry Facilities Recently got new laundry machines... in the building, they keep leaving oil/detergent stains on my clothing. Have reached out to management but of course there's not much they can do.
Brick West Brewing Co. faces the complex and in the spring and summer they play music and karaoke so loud that no matter what I can't drown out the sound in my unit.
Air Conditioning The units do not come with AC at all, you must purchase your own
Appliances Compact Oven and Fridge make it a challenge to store/cook items. No dishwasher, no in-unit washer or dryer.
Bathroom Poor air flow in units will lead to mildew if you do not clean with bleach
Deliveries Package deliveries can be a hassle and you must add the callbox to your contacts in order to buzz the driver inside
Packages I've had packages stolen a few times (nothing important, and the management company cannot change this but just want everyone to be aware)
Location I've had my car broken in to shortly after moving in. It was parked directly in front of the building outside someone's window
Trash There is a large dumpster to take your trash to, but homeless people dig around in almost every day. Shred your important documents.
Sound Walls are thin, you can hear your neighbors 24/7
General Apartment Very old apartments, visible large cracks in the ceiling/walls, windows are old and drafty, and the floors in my unit are hardwood but extremely old. They put rugs in each unit, under my rug they neglected to stain the wood. Rugs are provided pre-move in and are very bad quality. Bathroom fan does horrible job of circulating airflow resulting in mildew if you don't clean frequently with bleach. Not all windows have screens and not all windows stay up when you open them.
Storage One small closet, $40/mo for extra space in basement.
Space Small apartment, have to walk sidewalks to be in the bathroom as the tub is far too large. It's a standalone tub so you have to buy two curtains. Kitchen has weird layout.
