Property Details
Looking for two housemates to jump in on an amazing opportunity for affordable rent in the heart of Beacon Hill, near Jefferson Park, near The Station coffee shop, near the actual light rail station (also the #36 & #60)... I could go on & on.
The... home has 4 bedrooms with lots of light. One downstairs and one upstairs are available. The common area is an open kitchen/livingroom that makes the place seem nice and spacious. It has a shared project table for crafts & such, and a ton of plants, including 2 trees that make the space lush and inviting. :)
The rooms are small, and the common areas are already furnished, so sorry, no couples. This is a place perfect for folks living lightly - nomads who are ready to plant themselves for a bit, students, and minimalists.
There is a small front yard that I'm to coaxing into a wildflower zone. Street parking is always available close by. Some storage available in the shared shed. Washer/dryer in shed as well.
Rent is $750 + utilities - a steal! (Utilities fluctuate, with a median of $85 & a max so far of $125) Internet is separate, $14 a month. The lease term is one year and the move-in payment is 1st, last & security for a total of $2,250
Accessibility: There is a flight of 7 stairs to the front & back doors and a set of steep stairs to the upstairs room. Not a scent-free space. Moderate-noise environment. No pets, sorry. :/ Social drinking ok, but no smoking.
As far as who I am - I spend a lot of time on collective liberation work and engage in active resistance to racism, sexism, transphobia, abelism, etc. All people must be treated with dignity and humanity. I would love to find like-minded housemates.
I'm tidy and organized, and like to spend a Sunday afternoon listening to 90s summer jams and cleaning the kitchen. :) I like to water the plants and make common spaces hum with warmth. I meditate regularly and I'm kind of a library dork. I'm a comedy fan, keep busy with trips down to city hall to agitate for various things, and make a mean orzo salad.
As a housemate, I'm a good communicator in a kind and matter-of-fact way. I mean what I say, and say what's up with me, and people trust and love me for that. I'm a former mediator, good listener, and creative problem solver. Looking for folks who also have great communication skills.
Reach out if you're interested, and let's set up a time to talk. I love meeting new people and I'm excited to hear from you!
