My move-in experience at Shorewood was extremely disappointing. The unit was not ready—it was dirty, multiple appliances were non-functional (fridge, dishwasher, dryer), light bulbs were missing, the mailbox key didn't work, and trash was left behind from the prior occupant. I had to submit over a dozen maintenance requests within the first few days. When I raised concerns, the leasing office repeatedly cited "short-staffed" without taking ownership or resolving the issues. On the positive side,... the location on Mercer Island is convenient, and the community manager has recently shown genuine leadership in addressing my concerns. A great place to live. We especially love the parks and all the green spaces nearby, as well as the maintenance team, gym, location and facilities.

Community area is not kept up. Grills and fireplace do not work properly. People are allowed into our garage that shouldn’t be parking there

When I first moved here I thought it was heaven and we had found a community we would stay in for as long as they would allow us ! That was now 8 years ago and man do I miss those days ! Pre covid was an entirety different community and was an actual community! I desperately needed a new refrigerator and microwave and made my service request in October and it’s July and just finally got them replaced ! Those were only two of the multiple requests I have placed ( not to the fault of the only... maintenance poor kid running this huge place Han Solo ) ! My gas fireplace stopped working three years ago and was told I’m S#%* out of luck because it’s a discontinued model so now I just have this pretend fireplace when there are other companies that make electric fireplace inserts ! I used my Covid stimulus money to replace my dishwasher and buy a better current kitchen faucet and became a self taught YouTube college graduate in plumbing to install them and repair the faulty plumbing they had installed under my kitchen sink and the constant overflowing air gap . None of the outlets work in my kitchen or living room . My income is a fixed income ( not a 1%’er) so amenities are a big deciding factor when Im deciding where I’m going to live and when I moved here I sacrificed for the first time ever not having a pool and hot tub cuz I felt we were in close proximity to water and there was ( this list is all now past tense ) a gaming room with game consoles and gaming chairs with TVs , there was a functioning fire pit with nice outdoor umbrellas and seating . there was pool sticks and balls ( I just took upon myself to replace these ) and shuffle board whatever you call . There was a functioning drinking fountain with working filters and our workout room had a punching bag with gloves and outside of it had so many nice rocking chairs and outdoor furniture pieces with pillows that you could lay in the evenings and see bellevues skyline and the stars . They also had regular community events ! There was an annual food truck summer party that was amazing and Christmas, valentines and Halloween parties ! They used to even do adorable things like have the leasing agents once a week in the summer drive one of the golf carts around and hand out popsicles and ice cream bars like they were the popsicle man ! Shorewood offers a comfortable, quiet, pet-friendly community. Neighbors are respectful. It is a walkable neighborhood and near public transport. The grounds and buildings are well maintained. I have been very happy here for 3 years.
