Yes, the parking garage gate is sometimes broken, for days at a time or more. It's stuck open, not closed to clarify. For me this is not a huge issue. The area is not crime ridden. Not only are the police satisfactorily vigilant in my opinion, but there is also private Las Colinas security that comes by on bikes, foot, and in cars OFTEN. So. Yes, there always seems to be a door that's broken, this is pretty much 100% of the time the door on the back of the building. Not really an entrance 90% of... the residents use to enter. All other doors have worked minus maybe 3-5 times in my 2 years here, so I simply walked a little more to the next door. I ended up surviving believe it or not. The views are beautiful here, the complex is beautiful, the location is perfect, the units are very nice, and the amenities are certainly well toward the top end of what you can get in an apartment complex. Nice gym, great pool (PLEASE get both grills working though maintenance). It has been few and far between when I've felt people who shouldn't be there were there, but it has happened. The office is nice if you're nice. If you go in with an attitude you'll probably get one back, not ideal but they are human and I'm a nice person so I don't experience this issue anymore. We felt a type of way at first with new management but things are great now that we've gotten to know each other. One thing I will say I've noticed is that I don't think you want to be on any floor other than 1 or 5. It seems like the middle floors get kind of caught in chaos more than the 1st and 5th. One other objective issue, the package delivery system can sometimes be a mess, but mind you this is the fault of my fellow RESIDENTS leaving their packages in the locker for days on end, making drivers leave boxes on the floor and us not getting proper notifications. Not the offices fault, and they send out emails time to time asking people to stop doing that. This is an honest review of this property. Safety has been an ongoing concern during my time here. The key fob entry system to the building has reportedly been out of service for an extended period, which makes it easier for non-residents to access the property.
I have personally noticed individuals who do not appear to be residents spending time inside the building, including in stairwells and other common areas. At times, these areas have also been left in unsanitary condition.
There have also been recurring issues with the garage gate... not functioning properly, and some residents have expressed concerns about vehicle security.
Overall, based on my experience with building security, management responsiveness, and resident concerns, I would not personally recommend living at Lumen Las Colinas. Read More

This place has been a nightmare. Noise is a constant issue, with little to no enforcement. Trash piles up in hallways and stairwells, creating a disgusting and unhygienic environment. Maintenance is practically nonexistent—broken gates to the parking garage and doors to the stairwells stay broken for weeks, and the leasing office couldn’t care less.

The absolute worst part is the predatory towing practices. The tow truck literally sits and waits for visitor passes to expire, and one of my... guests even had the tow truck driver break into their car to tow it. It feels like a scam between the complex and the towing company.

To top it off, the leasing office staff is rude and dismissive, acting as if residents are an inconvenience. Save yourself the stress and find somewhere else to live. Read More
