Worst Apartment Experience Ever – A Cautionary Tale
Worst Apartment Experience Ever – A Cautionary Tale
I recently moved out of Thrive Almeda, and this was by far the worst apartment experience I’ve ever had. If you’re considering moving here, please take note:
Security & Safety • Car Break-ins & Towing: My girlfriend’s window was smashed, and my car was broken into. The gate was broken ~70% of the time, so anyone could enter. Security is non-existent. They tow unregistered cars immediately—costing $500 to retrieve. If you move here, pay the... $150/month for a garage. Never leave valuables in your car.
Office Complaints • Awful Communication: Friendly staff, but they don’t answer calls and will ignore ringing phones while you stand there. Management changes constantly—don’t expect consistency.
Pest Control • Ants Everywhere: Constant ant problems. Pest control came often but didn’t fix it. They half-do the job unless watched (caught on my camera). Ants were in my couch.
Appliances • Dryer Problems: Dryer never worked properly, even after being replaced. Took 5 cycles to dry towels.
Water Issues • Low Water Pressure: On the 3rd floor, pressure was low—especially in the mornings.
Noise Issues • Loud Neighbors: Repeated noise complaints got zero response from the office. Not a quiet place.
Unsafe Environment • Pool Area Chaos: Pool often turned into a block party—loud music, fights, and even gunshots. Not family-friendly.
Overpriced • Not Worth the Rent: The neighborhood is rough, yet rent is high. I found a much better place for the same price elsewhere.
Maintenance Issues • Unqualified Workers: Repairs were sloppy. I had to call them back multiple times to fix the same problem.
Dumpster Issues • Overflowing Trash: Dumpsters were constantly full. Trash piled up on the ground.
Garage Issues • Cheap & Inconvenient: You have to carry a clicker—no key access. Garages are poorly built.
Conclusion Would I move back? No. Would I recommend it? Absolutely not. If you’re staying long-term, look elsewhere. If you’re still considering it, re-read this review before signing anything.

DO NOT MOVE HERE
The complex is beautiful BUT management never calls back they do not return calls. They tell you they will fix issue & never reach back out. The walls are super thin you can hear if your neighbor sneezes. They need to tear these paper walls down. The WORST EXPERIENCE EVER.
