I moved here December 2025 to get back on my feet while attending school. Upon moving in, I was informed that the apartment wasn’t ready because it was being cleaned. When I finally moved in, the apartment was the complete opposite of clean, the laminate flooring was burnt and covered in blue/white paint that rodents left footprints in because the door had been open. There is a german roach infestation as well even though we are charged for pest control and have not received... a service once. The refrigerator was molded with roaches in the freezer vents, spiders crawling all over the cabinets with cobwebs everywhere. The carpet was never cleaned, items from the last tenant were left behind everywhere including roaches imbedded in the carpet. Stickers are all over the walls and painted over. There are many gaps all over the apartment which allow pests to come in and were never sealed properly. There are dead roaches in the vents that were never replaced which is a health hazard, and all the blinds/walls were left filthy. This may be one of the worst apartments in Dallas and they call themselves trying to rebrand their image. There is lots of gun violence in these apartments with multiple units being shot up and bullet holes left for months. Rodents and stray cats get into your trash because it doesn’t want to be picked up even though you pay a trash fee. Your vehicle will be towed even if you register it as a visitor which will cost almost $300 to retrieve. Your mail will be stolen as well because most of the boxes are broken into (I had a check from a previous employer mailed, stolen and cashed) I also haven’t had AC in almost 2 months after placing a maintenance request. It’s been 2 months I paid 50 dollar and bring all the forms for them to add my husband to the lease. They took the money and the form they they didn’t send us email for us to sign it. Now they’re charging for parking space 7 dollar and my husband have been paying it since July 18th. We are busy and both barely stay home. If I could give zero stars I would. I wouldn’t even offer these apartments to a homeless person. The maintenance people lie about coming to fix stuff and they don’t. I’ve been waiting since 5/26/23 for them to come fix things in my apartment. They marked them as complete. When I called the office they said they were going to reopen my work orders and never did. I’ve contact corporate multiple times and nothing has changed. I’ve expressed MULTIPLE times and NOTHING has been resolved. When I first... got the apartment I was told that I was going to be on the second floor. Move in day I found out I’m on the first floor. My first time coming into my apartment it smelled like pure urine and cigarette smoke. I’m allergic to cigarettes and the smell messes with my asthma. No matter how many candles and how much I clean the cigarette smell still takes over. I seen where the maintenance men brought the oven from upstairs to my unit. The oven is broke and the light doesn’t work. I told them that day the oven light was out. They said they were bringing one and never did. My dishwasher is full of mold. I’m still waiting for them to bring one. A gecko came up my kitchen drain Multiple times. They’re waterbugs everywhere in the master bedroom. I can’t sleep in my room due to the fact the waterbugs are unacceptable. I can’t even sleep in my apartment because the waterbugs have taken over. My main close in the bedroom smells urine as well. It’s also full of waterbugs. My bedroom room has shattered glass from the previous window. I can clearly see how the waterbugs are getting in. My front door is still open at the bottom. I don’t feel safe going to sleep knowing somebody can easily kick my door in. When I lock the door from the outside I am able to push my door all the way in like it’s about to open. This company is fully aware that they have a issue with A/C units. They allow you to move into a hot apartment, telling you it would be fixed. Once you sign that lease believing that things will get fixed, they will then ignore you. They don't answer the phones and do not return emails. The only way of contacting North Star is by walking into the office. The owner and office staff is completely disrespectful. BE CAREFUL moving here. You will regret it as soon as you have keys.

They don’t do walk through a before you move in , there isn’t a cleaning lady the apartments will be dirty. My ac didn’t work when I moved in neither did my refrigerator and my food spoiled because they took over 9 hrs to fix on my forest day moving in! The roaches are horrible pest control doesn’t help they are EVERYWHERE inside and outside, there isn’t a gym, no washer or dryers in unit or hookups , pools dirty and was locked for the WHOLE month a June.
