Mediocre management

The Sutton is a classic example of a building with so much potential but is completely ruined by poor management. The only reason this place gets a single star is because the floor plans are genuinely amazing and no noise from the floors on top of you. Beyond that, it’s been an incredibly disappointing experience.

I used to be an advocate for The Sutton. I loved my home and the community here. But over time, it’s clear that mismanagement and neglect have dragged this building down.

Valet...
parking? A disaster. Cars are constantly damaged — everything from small scratches to full-on totaled vehicles.

Management? When Sentral took over, it seemed promising at first. But once they hit their occupancy targets, it became painfully obvious they no longer care. Basic services and standards of living in a "luxury" building have completely fallen by the wayside. They cherry-pick when to enforce policies, applying rules inconsistently and unfairly. It’s clear they view residents as numbers, not people.

Flooding? Multiple apartments have experienced floods—probably over ten in the last year alone.

Customer service? Forget it. The general manager, in particular, has been completely dismissive of serious issues, following protocol only when it suits her. I personally experienced a situation where her mismanagement escalated a dispute with a neighbor to the point that authorities had to be involved. To top it off, when confronted, she screamed at me in the lobby in front of several witnesses. Completely unprofessional and unacceptable.

It’s heartbreaking to see a place I once loved become so poorly run.

I love it

Ilove living at the Sutton! I've been living at the Sutton for 3.5 months now and so happy with my decision of moving here. The staff is all super friendly, easy to access and they are all really affectionate towards my dog. I find it to be a very LGBTQ+ friendly environment and I love meeting my neighbors during the building community events.
Diana facilitates awesome activities for us to do together and I felt part of the community very soon after moving in. The maintenance staff is super...
helpful and went out of their way to help me with a piece of furniture I was trying to move by myself.

Great Property!

We stayed at the Sutton and it was an outstanding property with excellent management and amenities! Perched on the Willamette Greenway, a fantastic walking and jogging trail, and a few minutes walk from downtown, the property is extremely clean, has a fantastic modern gym and lobby, and is excellently managed! Special shout outs to @Diana Cisneros, Director of Experience, who always made us feel at home. @Mark Rotunda provided excellent customer service, and @Kore Smith, @Hayde Muniz, and @Delia... Graves were there to answer our questions and help day and night! Wonderful folks! The maintenance crew was friendly and responsive when needed, and the parking garage attendants were super helpful! Overall highly recommend!

New Management Team from Sentral ACTUALLY cares about their tenants!

My fiancée and I moved in six months after the building was completed. Unlike other reviews you may read, my primary issue was with ownership and their previous management hires, who mishandled my maintenance orders for an entire year. The situation became so severe that we had to consider legal action to be heard. However, under Sentral's new management team, we were able to resolve the issue without resorting to legal measures. Sentral has only been here for a month and has already proven to... be an exceptional managing company, representing a tremendous upgrade.

Sentral offers a quality of service that stands out, including:
- Happy hour on alcohol
- Complimentary weekend brunch
- Food vending machines
- Complimentary yoga sessions
- Weekly food truck at our building
- Whiskey tasting

In just one month, Sentral was able to offer tenants all these amenities, thanks to their amazing Experience team, lead by Diana.

Sentral being the current management resolved my legal dispute with ownership and demonstrated that they genuinely value their tenants. They take care of their tenants and are invested in lease renewals.
