Description:
There are four rooms for four housemates: Ryan, Zach, Jenn, and you. One cat... named Pandora (who shares Jenn’s room). You can find descriptions of each below. Housemates operates according to their schedules, but have been known to go out for drinks, celebrate holidays, play board games, cook together and see movies together. Daily life looks like running into housemates and friends in the kitchen, sharing a chat, and going about our days. It is generally an independent household as each housemate maintains a busy schedule, but there is space for good conversation and fun if one is open to it and makes the time.
The house:
Four bedrooms, two baths, washer and dryer on first floor, large kitchen/living room common area. Front porch, big back deck, large yard completely fenced in. Walking distance from New Seasons, Mississippi, Williams and a few bus stops away from the Rose Garden TriMet hub. Separate basement apartment. Particularly great for grad students. Everyone street parks.
The Room:
15x12 -180 sq.ft. Bamboo floors, north-facing windows, shares a bathroom with others on the second floor. It's a space imbued with creative force and healing energies. Warm peach walls compliment excellent sun coverage through each of the three windows. A nook provides adequate storage space for clothing and other doodads. Wood shelving for extra space and a window mounted AC comes with the room. Now that we’ve covered the home and room, let us explore the neighborhood!
The Neighborhood:
Do you like food? Do you like walking short distances to find it? Well if this isn’t the place for you then I don’t know what is. We are BLESSED with restaurants and cafes up and down both Williams and close-by Mississippi. There are NUMEROUS bars to hop along to, a New Seasons, corner stores, haircutters, yoga studios, multiple music venues. You get the deal. This is also an excellent jumping off point to bike to other parts of the city.
Us, ages 32-41:
Ryan has been here for ten years, is a cook, and is also trying to get into law school.
Jenn is a wry-humored Mail person, and always has a fun fact or interesting story. One cat.
Zach is our resident ghost and videogame nerd, and is going to school for computer-aided design.
Our common spaces are most often used for movie watching, pizza eating, cat cuddling, and enjoying cooking. We enjoy alone time in our rooms, too, and are respectful and quiet. There is no chore schedule. This can be a pro or a con, depending on your preferences. Essentials always get done, including: taking out the garbage and recycling; doing dishes; and generally keeping commonly used areas clean. We honor quiet hours spanning 10pm to 8am, with exceptions here and there.
What we’re looking for:
Financial stability - grad students are welcome, or someone with a job or steady source of income. We have a flawless record of paying on time, we invite you to participate in that. LGBTQ-friendly. We would also accept one more cat into our family. (Pet rent is an additional $50/mo).
Rent is $750/mo with a utility bill that gets split between the housemates on top of that. Move in is First, last, and a deposit of $750.
