Tenants have to turn on the faucets for at least 15 minutes to get hot water and then the water pressure is so very poor. Plumbing is always breaking. Even when renovated, the apartments look dark and rather drab. Rent increases are a normal thing, but not five in one year! When driving into the property, it doesn’t look like other complexes that have nice landscaping and pretty bushes or flowers. There are actually fake plastic flowers in the landscaping! Not much here! some walls in the... apartments are plastered and bumpy and were never even sanded to be smooth. That looks bad. There is absolutely no security whatsoever. Anyone can walk into any of the units with no problem. No locks on the entrance doors at all. there are no amenities on the property whatsoever, no pool, no exercise or weight room, and no party room. The feeling among the tenants has also declined because they are not happy with the situation today. I would not recommend anyone renting at Winterberry Village. Also, different tenants are treated differently than others. Some pay their entire security deposit while others get away with never raising theirs. Transfer fees are taken from some people, but not others. It’s become a rather unhappy place to live for most.

Disappointed
Residents are woken up on weekends by lawn equipment, truck/trailers, and construction. This should be done during the week so people aren’t getting woken up or have to shut their windows because of the noise. There are feral cats running around all over the place. You can’t rent in the carport because of all of the bird nests leaving junk all over your car. There is an orange barrel that has been sitting in the yard since winter from a water main break that obviously isn’t fully fixed otherwise... the barrel would be removed. There are no amenities on the property. A note has been up about picnic tables and grills over a month ago but nothing has become of it. There is an abandoned pool since COVID because the owners don’t want to spend money on it to fix. Residents would love a pool. Since the complex has no amenities you would think that they would convert pool into extra parking residents need due to residents having way more vehicles than bodies in their units or people cramming into units that don’t have enough bedrooms for their situation. The pool can be converted into a gym, pickleball, picnic area, rental space for parties, or a playground because we have children on property. That would make residents feel better about seeing the multiple increases this past year on rental sites and when we get our rent renewals. The new cleaning duo are friendly and always say hi and do a good job. The new leasing lady is friendly and responds and actions inquiries timely.

Spend your rent money elsewhere
This property is poorly managed and the lack of upkeep and care shows. There are numerous electrical outages, feral cats everywhere, bad behavior between neighbors tolerated, an empty pool that is never open, and not to mention the huge water issues with water main breaks and no hot water in sinks and showers. Residents aren’t accommodated appropriately for inconveniences. The most unprofessional is the lack of transparency and awareness given to residents especially when drinking water is... concerned.

Not worth it
Apartment is subpar, definitely not luxury like the sign boasts. The kids on the street behind the complex also terrorize multiple people who live here and the cops/ apartment management don’t do anything about it. They have raised our rent every year without doing any improvements to anything other than spraying over the parking lot. Have to share one washer and one dryer with 8 inconsiderate people who leave their loads in the machines for hours at a time if you don’t move them yourself.

Property Manager Made the Difference!
I called and or visited 11 apartments in the area and I chose Winterberry because of location, safety, appearance, and the key decider was Krystin, the Property Manager.
Krystin lives on property and takes pride in where she lives and the job(s) she has. She answers phones, tours apartments, cleans apartments, handles all of the paper work and I'm sure much more. She views Winterberry as not a job but her home and she talked to me as a potential neighbor not a random renter...that made the... difference. I am a very new resident here but very excited about my choice. Thank you Krystin.
