Overall great place among the options and prices you’ll see around the area. Safe and secure from the parking to mail to apartment. Issues with pet owners not picking up after themselves and major garage issue- not enough spots for residents on their floor.

Recently moved in and can’t say enough amazing things about The Penrose. The staff is amazing and the maintenance and cleaning team does a great job at keeping the building clean.

I’ve lived at the Penrose for two years now and really love it! It’s the perfect location in South End and the building is always kept very clean. My favorite thing is how quick maintenance comes to fix something if needed. I’ve always had a great experience with all of the maintenance workers, but especially Hugo! He was so attentive and fixed something that I didn’t even realize needed fixing. He also brought my dog a toy which was really going above and beyond. Highly recommend living here!

Maybe check to see if people parking are supposed to be parking? First come first serve is great for the price but half the spots are compact so that is a big detail to take into account

As a former resident and the guarantor parents, we wish we had looked more closely at resident reviews. The initial, in-person tour of The Penrose was great! Once we decided on this property, however, the management office became difficult to work with. We have now noticed other reviews mentioning they ignore repeated requests regarding security deposits & that is definitely our experience. As guarantors/business-owners doing the same business they do (e.g. leasing space in buildings to tenants)... , it's difficult to understand. The return deposit check is not that much money...it's truly the principle because withholding it is unethical and illegal. It also seems unusual that, as guarantors, they can demand such sensitive & personal information from you, request checks via overnight/express mail, take every rent payment directly out of your account and then refuse any communication with you because you are "not the leaseholder." When the family member who was the leaseholder tried to speak with them, they provided zero options to a problem. So, we submitted Durable Power of Attorney paperwork showing we are all legally able to discuss this lease with them. Then, we proactively provided a legal, written solution regarding the problem that was preventing them from reissuing the check. This was over two weeks ago. Three separate submittals. Zero response.
