Don’t Move Here

I have lived here for three years and there’s always some type of problem. My packages have been stolen from my front door, my bike was stolen, my bathroom ceiling is falling apart, and amongst other things my dishwasher has been broken since I moved in. I have notified the rental office several times.
The only reason I gave them two stars is because the staff is polite and the parks in the neighborhood. I wish I could post the pictures of how horrible this place is.

I like it

I have a loft apartments and it's the perfect size and layout for just me and my pets, rent is decent for being in Charlotte. The residents are nice, and it's surprisingly quiet here. Maintenance is a bit slow, but the people in the office are awesome!!

Pretty decent to live in

My family has been living in Emerald Bay Apartments for four years. When we first moved in, it was a quiet, affordable neighborhood. There is a park nearby for the kids, and the lake/waterfront is nice to walk around. The apartments are of decent size, mine had a new fridge and new(?) carpet. The dishwasher and other appliances were older. I have a nice view of the place since I sit on the second floor. The grounds are well kept.

Now it is quite expensive to live here (around $715-730 for a two...
bedroom, 1 1/2 bath) when I first started it was $625. There are many newer neighbors that don't control their kids so there are smelly, sticky messes outside (and some stay out past curfew and make a LOT of noise). The poor maitentence men have to clean up after everyone here since they love throwing trash everywhere. Fire trucks, and ambulances are common sights and sounds here (at least once a week). The office is helmed by three nice ladies but if you have an issue (short of a maitentence issues) they will tell you to call the police for noisy neighbors, neighbors parking behind your car, and sorts.

Bottom line, this area used to be nice to live in. Next year, I doubt my family will want to live here since rent will be shy of $750 and this place isn't worth it. The apartments are good, the staff is nice, but there can be better elsewhere.
