I’ve been living here since November of 2025. I thought the apartment was great, then I started finding issues. Firstly the cigarette smell is horrible. I’ve walked out of my apartment to find someone sitting on the window sill smoking. I don’t think smoking cigarettes should be convenient knowing the issues is causes second hand. Go outside!

Then come to find out the cold water doesn’t work in my kitchen. I’ve put in requests and it never got fixed. They fixed my bathroom sink but not my... kitchen sink even though it was in the same work order. Guess that’s the consequence of an AI chat bot.

Once January hit I started to realize my heat would never kick on if it was on the auto setting. I’d get lucky here and there and it would kick on and it was a moment to be celebrated. It got so bad I ended up having to buy a space heater and sit in my living room with a hoodie and blanket. Still was okay with the living situation given the price. Then summer comes and oh boy I was not ready. There’s nothing worse than having AC and it not working. The exact same issue occurs, doesn’t work on auto. Put in multiple requests, come home one day and a unit was put into my window, left on all day in 70 degree temp and the trash was on the floor after a month or so of having the outstanding work order. I understand the maintenance man no longer worked there at the time but nothing was said to anyone until after the fact. I wasn’t told anyone would be coming into my apartment a month after my request. Then the heat wave hit us with record temps and they get a new maintenance man and I get a notification saying my air is fixed. Nope it was not, my living room is unbearable. I did not pay for a studio I do not want to be stuck in my bedroom when I pay for the entirety of this apartment. Then my bill hit, from 70 dollars to 161!!! In a single month!! The AC runs all day but never cools. I’m past the point of hoping they fix it. I only complain because I work 10 hour days in the sun and I think the bare minimum expectation is to come home to an apartment that is cool. Going from 95 degrees outside to my living room being over 80 is inexcusable while the unit had been actively running all night and day. Now I have to foot that bill and I am BEYOND PISSED. I do live on the third floor which makes the heat not working not make sense and the air not being great make sense. Still doesn’t change the issue for me.

Chalet Villa has not been maintaining the water softener salt in the apartments. The water softener salt tanks for seven buildings are currently empty as of 12/6/2024, despite them knowing for sure they are empty now for at least several weeks, and may have been empty in some buildings going back to July of 2024. The hot water heater/tank in a building had to be replaced and they started work on it the day after Thanksgiving (even though it had been making some noises for a month) knowing... tenants wouldn’t have hot water all weekend if it couldn’t be finished on that Friday. And the dryer in one unit has to be unplugged and then plugged back in to get it to work for a year now, but that’s only because some of the tenants have figured out how to get it to work and the rest go to the laundromat! I've been staying here for over a year. its very quiet I have friendly neighbors. And above all amazing office staff!

I moved in to a "refurbished" apartment in June. I was pleased with the location, new appliances, counter tops and carpeting. I submitted the list of needed items to be addressed. First month I was fighting an ant infestation. Screen door was damaged and it took 3 months to replace, just in time for winter! Missing shelves in kitchen cabinets have never been received. Windows in bedroom and living room leak and during recent cold wave, apartment was 58 degrees. Gas bill is atrocious! A/C and... furnace need replacement. Had water leaking from toilet in 2nd floor unit leaking into my unit. Leak fixed but ceiling has not been repaired. Talking with neighbors I found that they also have issues that go ignored by management. This complex needs an overhaul! Maintenance man is swamped and needs help badly. Old buildings, cracks in the ceiling, uneven floors. No washer and dryer in the units. When you need maintenance they never show up. And the rent just keeps climbing. Spend a little extra and find some place else.
