Ongoing Hot Water Problems — Very Poor Maintenance
Barclay on Beacon is poorly managed and has ongoing hot water problems. The boiler frequently breaks down, leaving residents without hot water for days at a time. This recurring issue makes daily living very inconvenient and reflects a lack of proper maintenance oversight. For an apartment at this rent level, consistent hot water and reliable management should be the basic standard.

If you choose to live here, good luck
Great location as long as you don’t mind horrible management, the new heat system that costs $300-$400 per month, never working elevators. I’m really surprised to see such a high rating. Most long term tenants are now moving out.

Great place to live
Lived at Barclay House for over 2 years, all in all it is a great place to live. The apartments are large and the concierge service is a great bonus. My interactions with management has always been very pleasant and professional and they seem to maintain the building very well.

One of Brookline's Best
I have lived in Brookline for about 10 years now. All of the buildings are old in Brookline, so that is expected when living in the neighborhood. The management in the building have always been very nice and professional towards me and my wife. Anytime something has happened with the apartment they have gone out of their way to make us happy. Even during last winter when we had over 100 inches of snow, they were there late at night making sure there were no issues caused by the snow.
The... location is perfect! We can walk to Coolidge corner/Washington square in ten minutes. The T is right there!!!

This place SUCKS
If you're looking for an apartment in Brookline - THIS IS THE LAST PLACE YOU WANT TO LIVE. Management in the office is a scumbag - highly ineffective and one of the least professional young men I've ever met. LOOK ELSEWHERE.
