I’ve lived in Lakeview for about 5 years, bounced around to a few different places. However there was always an issue, either maintnens was a pain or the property managers where a nightmare to work with. Some places were just out right dirty. Then I found 2630 Hampden and I have to say this is one of the cleanness places I have lived in. Our live in maitnece is either cleaning the lobby, sweeping the sidewalks, or in the winter shoveling the snow. My place is quaint and quite just how I like it.

PPM in Lincoln Park
I work at Northwestern and lived in Evanston for awhile. It's a nice community, but I wanted to experience Chicago city life a little more. That's why I moved to the Lakeview/ Lincoln Park area. I didn't really know what to expect at first, but only after a month living here, I can say it is amazing.
I was able to get this apartment at a relatively low monthly rent, given the quality of the area and the apartment itself. That's all thanks to a really good apartment finding agent, Jeff, who... works for Planned Property Management (PPM). He really knew what he was doing and got us a great price. It seems to be a theme with this company - well trained knowledgeable employees. The on site maintainence man is friendly and responsive.
The inside of my apartment is plesant and spacious. It's a one bedroom. The kitchen is right near the door - it's easy access when buying groceries. The large L-shaped living room can accommodate 2 couches, a TV entertainment system, a few bookshelves / end tables, and a dining room table. There was new carpet and brand new appliances. There are no issues with the hot water or water pressure.
Living here, there's always something fun to do. I am minutes away from the beautiful lake front, with trails and a short walk to the zoo. There's so many places to eat, and I have yet to be disappointed. I could eat at a different place 2-3 times a week for a year, and I think I wouldn't run out of new places or get bored.
Commuting to Northwestern is a breeze too. I can easily hop on the "El" train purple line express and be here in 30-40 minutes. Getting downtown is super easy too; there's a bus stop right outside the door.
If I had one complaint, it would be the parking situation. It is very hard to find street parking in the city p, this close to Wrigley field. There are parking spots at the apartment complex, but they are too expensive and too small. It is too difficult to park the car when other cars are present in adjacent spots. The solution is to not own a car - you really don't need one living in the city. I sold mine a week after moving here and it's been a major relief.
