I applied for an apartment at Skye Reserve (Brandon, FL) in June 2025 and was approved. After paying all move-in fees ($375 application, $500 security deposit, $856 prorated rent), management canceled my lease on September 12, 2025. I was told I’d receive a full refund of $1,731, but the refund check they sent bounced on September 30, 2025, and they have not responded to multiple calls or emails since.
I’m sharing this so future renters are aware of my experience and to encourage management to... resolve outstanding refund issues promptly.

don’t move here!
Maintenance will mark your request as completed, when they never come! I requested that my dishwasher get fixed because it was leaking when I used it the first day I was here, and it was never fixed. I also requested my ac be fixed (they fixed it that same day) but came back a month later saying I requested it. Why would an apartment complex make you wait a month before attempting to fix your ac? Also has a lot of roaches always

Do not move here!
We have lived here for nearly a year and have had nothing but problems and headaches. Firstly, within a day a moving in, german cockroaches, everywhere. Nested. Roach motel. Maintenance is practically non-existent. Your requests go into the void. The walls are made of tissue paper. We have had a problem just about EVERY single month with payment due to the office mismanaging their system. And to top it all off, TODAY, without any type of notice (no email, no note, no phone call), they decided to... TOW every single car in our section of the neighborhood and spread them far and across the neighborhood. NO NOTICE. Just moved everyone’s car without even telling us where to find them. We don’t even know why. Some light road work? Honestly, if you can afford it, find ANYWHERE ELSE to live.

Tow Cars With No Warning
Today this complex has hit a new low. They are doing work on the parking lots and say they sent out emails regarding what buildings need to move their cars by when. I stopped by the Resident office once they opened and requested the email containing this info be sent to me. I checked my inbox and I never received any of the supposed emails they sent in the prior days. This is insane. I’ve been watching cars get towed all morning which is at the resident’s expense. To the guy with the Camaro... under a cover, I’m sorry they got yours. No apologies were offered to me by the leasing office for not properly sending out this execution. They just told me I was the first person to complain about not receiving it, my neighbor said the same thing to me this morning and is the only reason my car was not towed. Thankful they have a dog that needed to be walked.

Our leasing team sent communications to all our residents informing them of the work being done and kindly encouraged our residents to move... their vehicles by 7:30 AM. ALWAYS PROS and CONS
Many of the staff is nice. Getting things done is another thing. 1. When they use a sub contractor, someone needs to check the work before they leave. 2. Pool has been closed since Oct. that is 7 months now, renters are paying to have a pool. 3. Security lights out near the pool/weight room area for a long time and over a year the street light above that. Huge car issue with the buildings near the leasing office. NOT enough parking in that area. Let alone people have NONE working cars... sitting there for months, they do nothing about it. 4. They charge for everything ! Charge you to pay your bill on line, charge you to generate your monthly bill, even if you do not want it, it is automatically done. They charge for water, and all the taxes and sewer, which your water can come close to 100.00 for one person. These are simple things that can be solved easily
