The management of the property by Hines has resulted in many unwanted and unwarranted changes in the residence/community. One such change is their recent decision to sack all the concierges and shut down the front desk service - one they’re obligated to maintain per our lease agreement. They are replacing this service with an Amazon Hub. Not only is this decision a breach of contract but it also creates a great security concern for the residents. With DC crime rates what they are, it was a great... comfort to know that we had a trusted team of concierges to keep at eye out and make sure that unwanted visitors did not come into the building. That will no longer be the case.

Overall, amenities at this complex are mediocre in comparison to the other large apartment complexes in DC. Everything feels a bit dated and worn. The front desk team and the services they provided were simple exceptional and the jewel of the community. They knew all the residents by name and apartment number. They checked on us, took care of us, and went far beyond their job descriptions to make all of us feel at home. Unfortunately, they will be replaced by robots as a cost saving measure. The building is removing the front desk staff at the 875 side and the replacing them with Amazon lockers, etc. Had I known about this, I would not have renewed my lease. With this development building should at least offer the option to terminate their lease immediately.

This is a beautiful building, and if you like to be a central, mixed use business area, a great location. I have lived here since before the pandemic. However, the property management changed in mid-2022 for the worse. The new management team is less professional, less organized, and building maintenance has declined. Some units have had plumbing and flooding issues in part due to the building's design and maintenance problems. People are nice with a mix of students, professionals, and retired... residents. I have lived at the apartments at city center for exactly 12 days and have already seen mice running around my unit. Informed the leasing office who was very nice and as helpful as they could be and they sent the lead exterminator. Francesco then informed me that there was nothing he could do and would only be able to lay mice traps down until pest control comes which isn't until next Thursday 3/24/24. It is the next day and no one has laid any traps down I had to go out and get some myself and... lay them down. I am scared to sleep at night I missed two days of work and haven't slept in the unit. I've reached out to management who still has not gotten back to me and seems to be too busy. If planning to move here, move at your own risk! Bridgette has become a part of our every day existence here, and I would miss her terribly if I didn’t get to say hi to her as I leave for work. She’s lovely and incredibly sweet.

Tony is invaluable and I adore him. He’s friendly, calm and always helpful. He was wonderful to us during our Covid absence.
