The building is nice and clean, the rooms are well insulated but do have some weird quirks and thin paint. Mail pickup is a bit of a hassle, the trash chutes are regularly broken, and trash valet and other fees add to an already pricier rental price. The building has implemented some restrictive guest policies on public areas.

My biggest complaint is the billing. Staff and management seem pretty disconnected, so it getting information is very tricky and slow. As a matter of policy, the... building doesn't handle move-out cleaning themselves, they charge it all to your security deposit regardless of the condition you leave the room in, so do not expect to get your security deposit back (and if you get any money back it is very delayed). I've had several billing mistakes made during my time, only some were remedied.

I was charged an extra month of rent after ending my month-to-month renewal. Original lease documents were not available on the resident portal (save yours as you submit it!), and no documentation was given for my month-to-month lease, so they were able to get me on some fine print.

We have been without cold water in our unit since we moved in September of last year. Very little has been done to fix the issue. We are still paying full price for a unit that is not fully habitable, on top of that they won't help us relocate to another unit and Expect us to pay for movers that we cannot afford.

I have never felt so supported in a living space the way I feel at 1150 Clay. For such a young apartment complex, the management of the building has been second to none. Rae, Charles, Taylor, and Tiana have been so accommodating to my individual needs as a resident, and have exceeded my expectations as far as making me feel welcomed within the residential community. Just moved into Eleven Fifty Clay and I couldn't be happier. The staff is amazing and so helpful. The loading dock and service elevator—that actually holds for you—made the moving process so seamless. Amenity spaces are beautifully design and always super clean. It's also one of the more affordable apartment buildings in Oakland but definitely worth every penny.

We love living here! This was about the second showing we had in Oakland, but immediately fell in love. The staff was really helpful and kind, which was another reason we decided to stay here.

We made the right decision. Our neighbors are friendly, lots cute doggie, and help is always a call or email away. I’m happy that there’s a lot places to hangout with friends around the building. The common areas are kept clean as well.
