They love charging you extra fees just to live there
Their secret little fees make me not even want to live here anymore. I pay $150 a month as a resident for parking in the garage, and recently I got a new car. Therefore, I never had an updated parking sticker or parking pass from the front desk to put on my car. I was informed that I needed a new TagMaster RFID tag to open the gate to the garage, so I purchased a new one from them for $50. However, earlier today, I received a phone call from my roommate that my car was on a tow truck and was... about to be towed from the garage. I ran down there and see the tow truck driver hooking up my car. I stopped him and told him I’m a resident, and he told me to go to the leasing office. Once I went down there, they informed me that I also needed the little yellow “Canvas” sticker and that it would also be a $50 charge. Are you kidding me??? $50 for a sticker??? Unbelievable. Canvas, you really need to step up your game. I get the fee for the TagMaster as it costs Canvas money to replace it, but a little cheap yellow sticker should NOT be $50.

Hi Carson! We feel badly that you are not happy and would like to make your experience at Canvas enjoyable. Customer service is our priority and we will work diligently to ensure your happiness. Parking pass replacements are $50/pass per the fee... schedule in the lease. We recommend reusing your stickers if you get a new car! These terms are also included in the move in packet. With that being said, we will work to better inform residents of these policies to avoid a situation like this in the future. We apologize for the inconvenience and hope that we can make this up to you in the future!

Great place to live overall
Overall, canvas is a great place for college students to live if they want to be close to everything including campus. The location is perfect for people who don’t have a car and walk everywhere. The amenities are all so nice and the building is always clean. The only negative is the walls are super thin and it’s very easy to hear roommates through the walls.
