The best thing about them, they are only month to month.
This place is terrible. The only thing they have going for them is that they force everyone into a month to month so you don't have to be there long. Apparently, they claim that is no longer their policy. I wonder how much that has to do with the new laws about rent scalping.
My story starts with AJ. He is one of those guys who has some kind of social trigger where if you need to offer him any criticism about him or his work, he will be out to get you to enact a level of revenge. When I was... moving in he sent some wrong totals and numbers to me about what we agreed on, forgot I paid my deposit, and had me listed in a one bedroom when I was guaranteed my deposit held a 2 bedroom. Moving all the way from Oklahoma, this had to be right, so I was nervous. I tried reaching him, and when I couldn't during regular business hours, realized he has answered on the Apartments.com listing that offered a different number. So, he proritizes his business calls that offer a potential sale and sends to voicemail the ones with concerns. This time however, I was unsuccessful, and had to call him manager, his manager heard my complaint and told him to call me to address my concerns. He blew her off and emailed me and told her that he called me. Anyhow, she called the next day, and I was eventually soothed enough to make the trip and use that location.
My $500 deposit was somehow absorbed as a "processing fee/holding fee" and when I moved out, even though I had the place cleaned for the ONE MONTH that I lived there, they put a bunch of new charges in total of $429.00, never contacted me or told me of these concerns, and even made me pay a rekeying fee after returning the keys they gave me that didn't allow duplication. The letter to me was hostile unfriendly with threats of legal action and use of certified mail. Not even an attempt to work this out, only strong action.
The apartment was in identical shape to the apartment I left. The walls didn't need painting, the paint smell was still there when I left. They charged $190 to clean 2 bathrooms! The place was cleaned and cleared when I left. These charges are another form of AJ's psychosocial dysfunction and inability to handle criticism or the position itself.

Rockwell Place
This has by far been the best place I have lived in. Management was always great, we moved in when Caitlyn was the community manager but shortly after it was Austen and they were both SO friendly, understanding, and great!! Move in was fairly quick and simple, move out was also a very smooth process. Maintenance addressed things quickly and got them fixed, they were minor issues like small leaks under the sink but nothing major that should turn someone away from here. Parking was never an issue... for us here, there’s lots of open spots throughout the day, same with at night. Overall I absolutely recommend Rockwell Place to anyone looking to move into a quiet apartment that’s located in a nice area. We loved it here and are sad to leave.

Horrible Main Management and Communication
This place looks great to begin with but there's a lot of problems behind closed doors. We reached out the Management to fill out an application in September 2022 and we were accepted to be tenants and move in on October 2022. We were looking for a short term lease which they said they had however they didn't tell us until we were signing that we wouldn't get our deposit back if we stay less than 6 months. At that point we were already there signing the papers and had nowhere else to go so we... had no choice but to agree. We knew we wouldn't be getting our deposit back.
Move in was shady. There was nobody there to give us keys but they told us to just go in as all the doors were unlocked. Later that afternoon we finally got keys to our place. Upon inspection of the apartment because it's a new building there were a lot of things that were unfinished or not complete. Half the apartments in the building are unfinished and have construction materials stored in them. With our first months rent we handed in our rent check and vacate notice because we found a house to buy. Upon speaking with the manager we find out she is actually leaving because the main corporation of management is awful and I would have to agree. She shared with us the move out costs and told us wed be billed for that. I call the corporate office to work on scheduling our walk out so we can pay our fees and be done, but no. They don't do them in person. I had several questions for corporate and never got a response back to any of my emails aside from my initial check in response about move out. I spent 3 hours cleaning our apartment at move out and it was spotless. We lived there only a month so there were no problems. Three weeks later we received a letter in the mail with our move out bill which was 3x what we were originally told we'd be charged for move out with no explanation. We've tried contacting the units with no response from management. It was a decent place but management was horrible and they will charge you for literally everything, even if you didn't do it.

Management is poor.
I was scheduled for a tour at 10AM. I drove an hour to come see this property, and I arrived at 9:45. No one was around, so I waited another 30 minutes. I called the leasing office three times. I receieved no text back, no email back, and no call back. Over an hour after my appointment, I finally receieved one call back. If this is how management is, I'm glad I am not a tenant.
