I’m honestly so happy the application process fell through because I ended up finding a much better place!

That said, there were still several red flags throughout the application process.

Red flag #1: The community looks absolutely nothing like the pictures online. The outside areas were unkept, with trash and clutter throughout, especially around the residence I toured. It honestly seemed like the main building/office was the only area being maintained to get prospective tenants through the... door. The house itself had an odd smell, and both the front and backyard were a complete mess.

Red flag#2:They were advertising a special on the townhomes, but after I submitted my application, the rent had suddenly increased by hundreds of dollars. They were also advertising a move-in special if you moved in before August 15th. When I brought the promotion up, the leasing agent who assisted me didn’t even know the correct month associated with the special, which was concerning and confusing

Then came another red flag: The leasing office instructed me to upload specific documents. After I uploaded exactly what they requested, I was told the documents were not acceptable and that I had until the end of the day to provide different documentation or risk being denied.

Looking back, I should have trusted my first instinct and paid closer attention to the other negative reviews. Instead, I wasted time and money on an application process for a place that clearly wasn’t the right fit.

Sometimes a closed door is a blessing in disguise. I’m grateful this one didn’t work out because I found something much better!

I recently relocated to Richmond from South Carolina and came across these apartments. The young ladies that I spoke with did a virtual tour with me on a townhouse and told me it would be ready upon my arrival. After traveling over 400 miles, I was shown a completely different apartment. I was livid!!! I immediately went back to the office and said this is not what I agreed to. The heat didn't work, the premises has loads of trash overflowing the trash cans, the apartment was not cleaned... properly, bugs were on the wall, some were dead in the corners of the apartment, and most importantly there was no washer and dryer connection that I had requested. I was given a phone number to reach out to corporate on 2/12/2024 and as of today 2/16/2024 I had not received a phone call yet. Scheduled an apt viewing, got a confirmation text, drove all the way to the apts, just to be told they don't have any apts to view. A complete waste of time. I'm so glad I didn't put my app in. The staff seemed to not care at all about the inconvenience.

The management doesn’t answer the phone when you call. They are quick to try to put you off if you only a couple days late on the rent but if you have an issue they don’t try to solve it in a timely manner. They are all about money and they promise the gate would be fixed and it’s been a year. They need better security also I hear guns shots on occasion. I will be glad when my lease up.

The staff is a mess here. There's a million reasons you always need to go into the office to sort things out, and so does everyone else. They never answer their phones, or their emails, and often do shady things to wrest more money from you whenever they can. It's a shame because things could be good here if management didn't actively try to make life worse for the residents.
