Best Living Arrangements in Charlottesville
I was honestly super surprised to see the one-star review; I can say with certainty that that is a huge anomaly here. I'm speaking for myself, but also for all of the residents who I pass in the halls and elevators, when we always share how we have the best set-up in Charlottesville. I've been here for three years and if I ever had an issue (which occurred on two occasions, one of which was my fault) it's addressed immediately. I have lived in many different apartments in New York and DC, and I... can say the managers here (both in Megan and in Tyler) and the maintenance are unparalleled. Beyond that, all of the perks do make a big difference - valet trash and package delivery right to your door. Tyler also is incredibly responsive and 100% on the ball with everything. You never feel like you're imposing and he has been willing to go above and beyond - as Megan did, too. Price wise, the bang for the buck we get is tremendous; I know plenty of people who live in Charlottesville paying the same for old buildings while dealing with the same landlord/management issues you hear about ad nauseum. Sadly I'll be moving out soon for a new job in New York, but I will miss it here tremendously and can say wholeheartedly that I have never had as good of a living experience as I've had here.

Top Notch
This is without a doubt the best apartment in Charlottesville. Being within walking distance of UVA and downtown is spectacular. There are several great restaurants and bars within 100 feet of the front door.
The location is obviously premier but the service I’ve experienced has been top notch. Requests are attended to even on evenings and weekends. Work orders are handled within 24 hours.
Best of all is the design of the building. The beautiful floor to ceiling windows present so much... natural light that can be concealed with modern roller blinds. The matte black cabinets and all the finishes are very modern and sleek. The courtyard and common areas are beautifully designed and very quiet. Each floor has its own unique artwork and it gives the building so much character. 10/10 highly recommend!

This is the worst apartment complex I’ve ever lived in
I can confidently say this is the worst apartment complex I’ve ever lived in. Don’t let the high rent fool you...my experience at six hundred west main falls far short of anything resembling “luxury living.”
On the first day I moved in, I discovered multiple previously undocumented maintenance issues. Some were addressed, but the most serious problem was not: my shower leaked in a way that allowed water to seep under the bathroom flooring, where it would remain trapped for weeks without drying.... I documented the resulting mold growth, as well as brown liquid being forced up from beneath the floor when stepped on. Despite this, no one seemed particularly concerned about the issue.
Over the course of eight months, maintenance staff and plumbers came to my unit at least ten times. Multiple workers indicated that the shower enclosure needed to be replaced, yet management repeatedly delayed taking meaningful action. I was told on more than one occasion that the issue would be resolved, only to have another temporary fix attempted instead. I have dealt with ongoing stress, constant disruptions from people repeatedly entering my apartment, and periods where I could not properly use my bathroom.
When they finally agreed to replace the enclosure, the experience was still disappointing. The installation quality was extremely poor, not even up to the standards of the previous enclosure, and the unit was left in a significant mess that I had to clean myself over the weekend. For the rent this property charges, especially after increasing my rent, that level of service is unacceptable.
Additional issues: The “custom” roller blinds make several windows impossible to properly operate. Outdoor common areas frequently smell strongly of pet waste because residents let their dogs poop and pee everywhere.
This was nowhere near the standard of living I expected for the price. Based on my documented experience, I would strongly caution others before signing a lease here.

We understand how frustrating it can be to experience recurring maintenance issues,... particularly when they affect the comfort and enjoyment of your home. Our records reflect that we responded to each maintenance request submitted and worked with both our maintenance team and outside plumbing contractors to identify the source of the shower leak. Unfortunately, the underlying issue proved more complex than initially anticipated, which resulted in multiple repair attempts before the decision was made to replace the shower enclosure.
We also regret that the installation and cleanup following the replacement did not meet the standards we expect from our vendors. Resident satisfaction is important to us, and we continually evaluate both our maintenance processes and contractor performance to ensure quality service.
We appreciate your feedback regarding the window shades and the cleanliness of our outdoor common areas. Our team continues to remind residents of their responsibility to clean up after their pets and regularly inspects the grounds to help maintain the community. Feedback like yours also helps us identify areas where we can improve.

Great Place
First of all, Megan is awesome. She's always there helping you out with anything you may need. Second, this is by far the nicest apartment building that I've seen in Charlottesville. Modern, cozy, and close to everything you may need. Overall, great place to live.

Great place to live
I am enjoying living here. My apartment is clean, quiet, and in a great location. The appliances are all great, and the trash collection system is really nice. Megan is very helpful and friendly. The only real downside is the cost.
