Very disappointing experience with The Branbury. My son notified management that he and his roommate were trying to sell their contracts and were given the necessary paperwork. He also has digital paper trail showing The Branbury knew of their intent to sell.

My son found two interested buyers ready to take over their contracts. When he asked about submitting the “intent to sell” paperwork, The Branbury told him he didn't need to submit it yet. However, when the buyers went to move forward, The... Branbury provided different contracts reflecting a lower promotional rate. The buyers said management encouraged them to sign the lower-priced contracts when they questioned the price difference. They said they hadn't known about the promotion until The Branbury told them.

When confronted, management denied wrongdoing and refused to release them. Having already committed to signing elsewhere, my son spent more than six hours during a family reunion trying to resolve the issue with the employee answering the phones. He was repeatedly denied access to the leasing manager, told she was unavailable, and denied her name or contact information. Ultimately, The Branbury told them they would have to find new buyers themselves and even suggested offering a better deal to compete with its promotion.

The next morning, our attorney contacted The Branbury. Shortly afterward, my son and his roommate each received emails saying they were released because The Branbury had found other buyers. Interesting coincidence.

This was particularly curious because The Branbury had said they would have to find new buyers themselves and couldn't help until the complex was full—which it wasn't.

The Branbury also kept my son's $250 seller's fee despite losing his prospective buyers. They refused his refund request multiple times, citing their “standard policy,” and also refused reimbursement for the considerable time and trouble caused.

Regardless of legalities or policies, we felt it would have been honorable to refund the $250 in good faith. Instead, the experience felt extremely unfair.

We would never recommend The Branbury. We felt The Branbury manipulated the situation to its advantage, making us question whether they were unwilling to correct a mistake (best case) or unwilling to deal honestly with us (worst case).

I was just told by my son that they put a boot on his car for a parking spot he currently pays for out of his rent all because he forgot to inform the office he wanted a parking spot again. This cost him $75 to remove the boot. What kind of business practice is this? Are they trying to get people to move out? Would a notice on the door do the trick? Seems obnoxious and heavy handed way to treat a college student.

The actual apartment was a good place to live but the management is terrible. They would fail us on cleaning checks for no reason and always tried to nail you with extra fees. Got charged a “set up” fee when I moved in. They also screwed me on my move out and I only got half of my deposit back even those I cleaned and wiped down my entire room.

Lives here since August and it’s been great! They’ve been really flexible with Covid and people are awesome.

I have loved my time at The Branbury! Not only is the property huge with lots of parking, grassy areas, and tons of people to meet; but the location is perfect as well if you are attending either BYU or UVU. There is always something going on and new people to meet and no shortage of fun amenities. I personally have really enjoyed the pool, hot tub, and fire pits! A really fun social place to live. Definitely recommend.
