If you have health conditions or mold allergies, or if you are perfectly healthy stay away from this place. Living here was a nightmare. And unfortunately took a year plus away from living a normal life. My partner and I were exposed to mold that caused constant headaches, congestion, random illnesses, and breathing difficulties—the list goes on. I repeatedly contacted the office about my concerns, but they completely disregarded them. The only solution they offered was to clean the air ducts... for “mildew.” Shortly after the ducts were cleaned, our symptoms became much worse, likely because the mold was spread throughout the apartment. We eventually had to contact corporate and explain what was happening, including that I have pre-existing health conditions. Corporate said a professional mold tester would be sent to the apartment. After the testing, the property manager emailed me stating that there was mold growth, but claimed it was “normal.” When I asked her to attach the actual test results, she sent another email stating the conclusion showed no mold growth at all. These were two completely contradictory statements. The results themselves showed elevated levels of Aspergillus/Penicillium and the presence of multiple mold types that were not found outdoors, which was used as the control. Despite this, management insisted the mold levels were “not elevated.” And It was mostly in the bathroom connected to the bedroom where I sleep and spend half of the day there!! This experience was incredibly frustrating, misleading, and harmful to our health. If you value your well-being—especially if you have allergies or respiratory issues. I strongly recommend staying far away!! Even 9 months out of the moldy apartment I lived in, I am still fighting with health issues. I would give this place 0 stars if I could. Living here was disgusting. On the other note THIS APARTMENT IS WAY TOO EXPENSIVE TO BE LIVING IN THESE CONDITION!! Go save money, time and your health by choosing another apartment

We want to clarify that after your report in November 2024, our team promptly conducted an air vent cleaning and had a licensed, nationwide mold inspection company... professionally test your home. The results showed no mold growth and no action was required. While at-home tests can sometimes be inaccurate, we take all resident concerns seriously and follow proper procedures with licensed professionals. Regarding the light outside your door, spikes were installed as a preventative measure to discourage nesting in entryways and are not harmful to birds. Worst Apartment in San Marcos
I recently had the unfortunate experience of living in what can only be described as a nightmare apartment. The staff at this place seems to have mastered the art of not caring about residents. It's as if customer service is an alien concept to them. Requests for maintenance were met with indifference, and it felt like they couldn't be bothered to address any concerns.
To make matters worse, the vendors they work with are incredibly disrespectful. I had the misfortune of dealing with rude and... unprofessional individuals whenever there was a need for repairs. It's disheartening to see that the management doesn't hold their vendors to any standards of decency.
And let's talk about the rent – it's beyond overpriced for the subpar living conditions. You'd expect that with the amount they charge, you'd at least get a well-maintained and clean living space. Unfortunately, that's not the case. The cleanliness of the common areas and even individual apartments leaves much to be desired. It's like they don't believe in basic hygiene standards.
In summary, if you're considering moving here, my advice is to run in the opposite direction. The staff doesn't care, the vendors are disrespectful, the rent is exorbitant, and the cleanliness is abysmal. Save yourself the headache and find a place that values its residents.

Maintenance and management do not fix problems in timely or satisfactory manner
Since around November 2022, I have experienced long delays in repairs to the following: no central heat for many days, no hot water for days. I reported a leaking sink in November that was not fixed until January. I reported a running toilet in early January. Nothing at all was done until 4 days later, when I wrote management concerned about maintenance not replacing the broken toilet parts, and my water bill. I requested the broken toilet parts be replaced that day. Management said... maintenance said the toilet was just clogged, and that's why the toilet was left running, evidence that maintenance never even looked at the running toilet. Management said they would credit my account for the days of the running toilet. Then, they wrote to say they wouldn't, that my bill had not been impacted. My utility water-sewage bill has tripled since December. Management, first, ignored my emails for a few days this week where I expressed concern about plumbing and their water/ sewage bill. After I called, they wrote to say I will just have to pay this tripled bill, while they look into things. They claim they will try to credit my account for the running toilet days next month, but they cannot do anything at all to fix my tripled water/sewage bill due on March 1st. They expressed no planned resolution to the plumbing problem causing the bill to triple.

MOLD IN VENTS!!
Stay away from this place. Awful staff who only break things instead of fixing and there’s TWO STRAINS OF MOLD IN ALL THE VENTS!! Will charge fees for non existing animals. THIS PLACE SUCKS!!

Unable to make simple 12 month leasing agreement
Everything was great until I got the quote which said 14 months. When I asked if I could do a 12 month lease they said that that was impossible. I'm sure this may not be a huge deal for some people but for me who will be graduated in a year I can't afford to pay 3k for a place I won't be at when I'm gone. They weren't willing to work with me on it one bit and where quite frankly pretty rude about it. It seems pretty standard practice to do a 12 month lease at an apartment but not at the Sync...
