I moved in here in August of 2017 and lived here for 2 years until August 2019. There are many good things about this community but I think the best part is the location, between UTSA and downtown making it easy to get anywhere i'd want to go. In addition the office staff (previously elizabeth and now nicky(sp?)) are excellent and very accommodating, going above and beyond to ensure the residents are happy. Art and his maintenance staff are quick and professional and any issue i had was dealt... with the same day 95% of the time. The community is great, I came to know many of my neighbors and knew that they had an eye on my apartment when I was working long hours. Its a very quiet place in the middle of town, plus you can walk to the sprouts, dollar store and liquor store- so pretty much everything you might need is within walking distance.

I don't know who wrote reviews about gatherings and bulletins, but that doesn't happen. EVER. I've lived here over 5 years. It's ok. I can't afford anywhere else. Maintenance is good, everything is old. Pools are ok, if they're clean. It is a quite place. I just don't think it worth the price. It's still less than other places, but it's high for what it is. Old and outdated. Staff is good, but don't go by hours. Never there on weekends, opens around 9 closes for lunch and out by 4:30, sometimes... 5. It's not privately owned anymore, so who knows what's going to happen with the rent now. It is a good location. Right there on I10 and 410. Could get anywhere in the city within 15 min and downtown within 10. People move in and out all the time. There are some (like me) that have been here a while, but that's not the norm. If you want quiet, old and outdated, this is the place.

I came to Sugar Hill in the early 1990s. After brief move to Denver Colorado in 1995 I returned back to Sugar Hill. They truly celebrated their residents
via monthly gatherings in our Club House honoring: Father's Day's; Mother's
Day; Arts and Crafts; Christmas... Friendships were developed among residents and Staff. Monthly bulletins kept us posted on apt. updates along with yummy recipes and helpful household hints. Sugar Hill is a charming
and peaceful place to live minutes away... from our Medical Center and very close to interstate I-H 10 and Loop 410. Greatview Street is an exclusive street only for "Sugar Hill." Yes, the view is indeed Great! The trees, bushes, flowers and extremely clean and manicured landscaping is very inviting. Sometimes
I forget that I am in city. The floor plans are spacious and provide plenty of closet space. Maintenance work orders are processed without any delay and approximately very few years Sugar Hill is intensely inspected for major upkeeping such as: Roof Repairs, Major Tree Trimming, replacing any decaying external/internal wood... to assure a quality of life that is
pleasing and safe for everyone. I must admit, "The Grass is not always
Greener on the Side." Nine years ago, I moved to another apt. community.
My apt. was robbed. When my lease was up I returned to Sugar Hill. Two years ago my job was outsourced. Management was very supportive. I downsized and I am happy to be here. Some time back we had heavy thunderstorms on a Fri. night. On Sat. morning a huge tree fell
on two vehicles. The Office Staff, Maintenance, Professional Tree Trimmers, & Insurances Inspectors were all in place to assure the safety of our residents.
No one was injured. I consider the Office Staff and Maintenance Staff my Family. Oh Sugar Hill has been open since 1970 and our Head Maintenance
Man "Antonio" still works full time here.

I've been here over a year and could not be happier. There have been few reasons to have management come in but when I've needed them they came the same or next day. I moved from a 3 bedroom home & have lots of storage. My 979 sg ft 1bdrm with a den has a dressing area with a sink; under sink storage; a hamper closet; linen closet; a large walk in closet and another good size closet for additional storage. The den has built in shelves and a big pantry in the kitchen. And a small coat closet.... The neighborhood is very quiet even though we are close to IH-10 i never hear car noise. In the year I've been here the complex has painted the siding and had the parking lots resurfaced we have plenty of trash & recycling receptacles. I really like having windows on the front & back of the apartment for flow through breezes. Also most of the complex doesn't face direct afternoon sun so my a/c bills aren't bad.
