Mold. I would personally tell all my friends and family to stay away. Not a huge issue for me as I use stairs but elevator stops working at least once a month for a good week at a time. Was really hoping this would be the right place as it’s close to work, only good thing about these apartments is feng cha! I was given the apartment in a nasty condition as shown in some pics and made it better by asking the maintenance to fix everything which took nearly 10 months for everything to get fixed,... now they’re stressing about move out costs lol

Hello, We acknowledge that there have been elevator issues in the past. We’re happy to share that the elevators have been operating reliably, and we are scheduled to receive brand-new elevators this spring. With these improvements, we do not... anticipate ongoing elevator concerns moving forward. We’re also sorry that you feel your apartment was not delivered in acceptable condition. This is not representative of our standards. Since September, our management team has implemented a process where all apartments are inspected multiple times prior to move-in to help ensure they are delivered in excellent condition for new residents. We take maintenance requests and resident concerns seriously and regret that the resolution timeline did not meet your expectations. Regarding move-out charges, these are assessed in accordance with the lease agreement and based on the condition of the apartment at move-out compared to move-in, excluding normal wear and tear. Our team is always available to review charges and provide clarification if needed. We appreciate your feedback, as it helps us continue improving our community. We wish you the best in your next home.

Living at Calais Midtown has been awesome! The staff is super friendly and quick to help with anything, and the location can’t be beat. Close to restaurants, nightlife, and downtown. The place is clean, quiet, and really feels like home.

Noisy construction hub
There has been construction on the building and the surrounding streets for the entirety of my lease. There is drag racing that happens on the street directly next to the apartment building. They are planning on starting a remodeling project inside the building soon, and have sent emails out to residents telling them to expect noise. Do not sign a lease here.

Nothing works!!!
Nothing in this place works. The garage gates are always broken, the elevators get stuck once a week and the entire community is unsafe. People's cars get broken into constantly and the homeless just hang around the area with free access to the apartments. Also nothing gets fixed in a timely manner when requested.

Security is still not fixed
The gate problem still persists with no guarantee of a solution. The garage is dark, there are no security cameras or guards, and the gates have been open for almost a year. My car was vandalized twice last December. Management blames vendors, but that excuse seems pretty weak at this point. The only thing management has done is put up a sign that they’re not responsible for damage to our cars. This complex has a lot of positives, but if I were a woman I wouldn’t live here.
