Website Photos Do Not Reflect the Unit Delivered

I wanted to shed some light on my experience with the unit delivery and costumer service I felt I have gotten from this place.

I signed my lease based on the photos advertised and verbal confirmation during my tour that the unit would be renovated by my move-in date. Based on that information, I moved forward with signing and paid my first month’s rent.

When I finally viewed the actual apartment, I was surprised to see that it was neither renovated nor in proper move-in condition. I documented...
multiple issues with photos, that included a missing stove burner plate, exposed wiring under an appliance, stained carpeting, rusty shelving, visible wall damage, old detreating mirrors, and general cleanliness concerns, among other things.

I submitted my move-in condition report within the required timeframe and briefly met with management to try to work toward a reasonable solution. At that meeting, I was informed that renovated units would not be available until April. However, renovated floor plans are currently advertised online as available, which has understandably added to the confusion and frustration.

At this point, I have not moved into the apartment and am staying in a hotel while hoping this can be resolved quickly. I requested a follow-up meeting due to the urgency of the situation, but it has been postponed. The only option that has been presented to me so far is to break the lease.

I was genuinely excited to live here and really liked the layout and community, which makes this especially disappointing. My hope is still to find a fair resolution.

Praying for you

Friends, I know housing is tough in Abilene right now, but I would only live here if you were desperate and I'll tell you why. This apartment complex has been through at least 3 different managements in the past 8 months, and all of them do not care about their residents. When I first moved into my apartment, the place was a wreck: missing kitchen drawers, window blinds & screens, and a beer can in my washer and dryer. The kitchen drawer was fixed within a couple weeks, but it took 6 months for... my apartment to get a screen (and I still don't have blinds). Additionally, one of my roommates noticed that our outlets sparked whenever something was plugged in, and one of the maintenance people said that every building was an electrical fire waiting to happen (even the newly renovated ones), and that we should get out or get really good renters insurance. Management does not care and will not pick up the phone or even have their office open during their hours to address these issues.

With all of the horror stories that I could get into with this apartment complex, I will say that this is not one of the worst complexes in the area, from what I have heard. Moral of the story is I'm sorry you're looking for housing in Abilene at this time, and best of luck.

Not worried about your safety at all

Do NOT move here! My son only lived here for 8 months and still had to pay for a 12-month lease. He was roomed with a guy who was making, selling and doing drugs in their apartment. We brought this to the attention of the management several times but nothing was ever done so for the last four months of my sons lease he could not even live in the apartment. They did finally offer to move my son but since nothing was done the first few times we made them aware of what was going on, we went ahead... and moved my son out of the apartment totally. Also, a few months after moving in, my son and his other roommate had been held up at gunpoint in front of their apartment. This place is all about the money and they absolutely do NOT care about what is happening as long as they are making money. I was told by someone else the reason they will not kick out the guy who is making and selling the drugs is because they would lose money by not getting his rent money for the remainder of his Lease.
So if you're okay with living in a place where you get held up at gunpoint and have to deal with taking a chance on getting charged with a felony bc you have a roommate who is making and selling drugs with your pots and pans (along with doing other criminal activities) then this might be the place for you!
