Roaches + didn't honor the move-in promotion in my contract + filthy, trash-covered corridors + paper thin walls

I moved into The Cannon in Murfreesboro on January 4, 2026, under a promotion offering 10 weeks of free rent and a $1,000 gift card. I have never received the gift card. I asked about it in person four times and began emailing management. Several emails went unanswered. I was eventually told via email that the gift cards were being mailed and that I would be contacted when they... arrived. After waiting another month, I followed up and was then told that because management had changed, the new company would not honor the promotion offered by the prior management. I signed my lease and moved in based on the promotion offered at that time. I do not believe a management change should eliminate a promised move-in incentive, particularly after the new management previously acknowledged the gift card and told me it was simply delayed.

I have had ongoing sanitation issues with the required trash service as well. The trash fee increased after management changed vendors, but service worsened. Trash bags are dragged down the stairs, leaving foul-smelling garbage liquid on the walkways I use to reach my third-floor apartment.

During the transition, trash sat outside units for over a week. Shortly afterward, I developed a roach problem. I emailed management three times before an exterminator was sent. moving in move in was good, no complaints, just need to turn up the hot water temperature but overall been a good experience.

move in applying and getting accepted plus moved in went very smoothly. Jaclyn was an amazing help and positive, welcoming energy!! I am silly and couldn't figure out how to work the washing machine and maintenance was so kind and helpful!!! I have been here almost two weeks and while my dog is still adjusting- I have been warmly welcomed by neighbors. The home and property is so beautiful!! I look forward to my time here :)
