Do not rent an apartment here if you value your sleep. The creaking and squeaking sounds in these 64 year-old floorboards are horrendous. Virtually all floorboards in older buildings creak to some extent. But the sounds emitted from the ceilings in my ground floor one-bedroom apartment are ridiculous, especially in the bedroom. There are numerous solutions available in the marketplace for easily fixing creaking floorboards, including special screws with break-off heads. But management refuses to... implement any of these solutions. If you are considering renting here, make sure you know what you're getting into with these floorboards before signing a lease. I found this apartment on apt.com. I was really impressed with the apartment size and the convenience of public transportation. You can walk to stores right on Baltimore Pike. Neighbors are friendly. This apartment complex is clean and when I needed maintenance Jerry was there if not that day he was the next day. We have lived here for about 4 yrs now it's the worst place to live parking lot is full of potholes, and full of garbage people throw food on the grass which I think is disgusting it attracts bugs , but management doesn't care all they care about is raising the rent and getting the rent on time. HALFPENNY is the worst . Don't live here.

We lived here for several years. The kitchen is so tiny. Two people can not be in kitchen at once and be comfortable at cooking or washing the dishes. The walls and floors are so thin. You can hear your neighbors every move. The carpet is cheap. The parking lot stays full of trash and debris. Each year management increases the rent but no maintenance work on the buildings to show for the increase in each tenants rent. The hallway always smelled like mold and musky. One year they turned the heat... off before the cold weather had stopped because it was in late march. Our apartment was 45 degrees but no heat available to us.
They also installed new coin washing machines and dryers in each building but raised the price on each one. The machines were not any bigger. We were not allowed to have a grill for outside but we seen that a family in the next building had one outside but management said that they could have one because they had lived in the building for years. Great location but the apartments are so small. hardly no closet space. bathrooms are way too small. base board heat which is controlled by management. only 1 a/c unit in wall in living room. It does not cool any of the bedrooms. I had to buy a/c units for windows in bedroom. There is also no light fixtures in bedrooms or living room. You have to buy your own lamps. Walls are thin. Coin laundry in basement of each building. Too expensive to use. just normal size machines. Its a good location if... you like to wait on traffic every time you want to pull out of parking lot onto the main street. Rent is too expensive for such an old building and small square footage.
