I moved here right out of college in 2019 and just recently left 7years later due to a life event. From the very beginning, my experience was great. Stephanie, the property manager was very friendly, transparent and welcoming. I came from working in a leasing office for 3 years, so I knew the ins and outs of renting, and I felt this property was safe, affordable and in a good location. The building mainly houses retired folks, and students from the surrounding university. The front desk staff,... management and older residents were always so kind and made the place feel like home. As a single female living in a new city, it was great having people who kept an eye on you. In my 7 years living here, I always felt safe, informed about any safety issues, and when I did have maintenance issues arise (which wasn't very often for 7 years) they were quick to fix it. The location is within walking distance to 2 train line stops which made it very easy to get into center city and back. The building was also within walking distance to Wissahickon park, so I frequently went running and hiking. I loved how I spent my days working in center city and then could come home to a calmer neighborhood near nature. Local neighbors would say " good morning" as you walked the neighborhood, and over the years the area has gotten better with the addition of coffee shops and a local grocery store. I had a car, and it was so nice to have affordable parking in a secured garage. Everything I needed was within a 10-20 min drive. I personally felt if you respected the rules, and people in this place, they respected you back. They are a little old fashioned, e.g. posting news updates via paper taped to common areas, but I kind of liked it that way. There is onsite laundry that you pay for via a laundry card, and there is onsite trash pickup. Again, they are clear and reasonable with the rules, you just need to follow them as they are. If I didn't have a life event, I would probably have continued to live there.

Great overall
This was my first apartment and experience living on my own. I was there for 3 years. I have no complaints. I always felt safe. You need a key fob to access the building and the 24 hour front desk staff ask visitors where they are going and to sign in. You can even be put on a list to be called if you get a visitor. The office staff and front desk staff were always respectful and pleasant to deal with, especially if you are respectful to them!! Any maintenance or exterminator requests were... always taken care of. Granted, I had a cat; I never saw any rodents in my unit and definitely less than a handful of roaches. If I ever needed to, I would have no problem moving back. When I moved out I got my full deposit back in a timely fashion.

not worth the trouble
Where do I even begin? The front desk people are rude and give you attitude if you ask them anything.
The hallway smells, the trash room is never cleaned (forcing me to hold my breath before tossing out trash), and the rooms don't match the posted pictures. This apartment is a slum that targets international students. Additionally, the maintenance staff is rude and offer bandaid fixes to any problems you have..

look somewhere else
this place is disgusting. the only place that doesn't smell like a soggy basement is when you first enter the lobby but once your past the front desk you will immediately begin to smell it. the hallways here are the most uncomfortable place you can be it smells so bad and is so dingy plus they never fix the lights so you are just constantly looking over your shoulder and rushing to get in your door. but when you are inside there are bugs and mice everywhere. its so bad there is an exterminator... here every week. yet we still have infestations. when i first got the apartment i had to have maintenance come because there was mouse droppings and they told me to buy traps. i had to call maintenance here more times the first week of living here than i have ever had to call in my whole life of renting put together. first it was the infestations then it was the cigarette butts and smoke everywhere in the emergency stairwells. then it was the elevators breaking down WITH people in them. anything that can go wrong in an old building like this has gone wrong and continues to go wrong because management refuses to fix anything. its cheaper and easier for them to rotate residents than it is to actually fix things. the front desk here is the most rude and hostile group of people i have ever met. when they arent saying things under their breath and starring you down they sit around most of the time watching tik toks and spreading gossip about other residents (i cant tell you how many stories i have heard just waiting for the elevator). the managers here are even worse. i can tell that the managers are on this site and others writing fake positive reviews because no resident i have met here ever has anything good to say about them. it is a common joke here that stephanie loves to make peoples lives hell and thats really sad when you think about it cause this lady looks way too old to be acting that way. if i could give advice to anybody looking to rent here i would say dont do it. the price is nice at first but youll find over time that its worth more of your time and money to search around more. i promise you you will waste more money buying mouse traps, bug repellent, and air fresheners than you would if you looked for another apartment.

Great apartment/nice staff
We love our 3 room apartment and have lived here for 2 years. We have a newer apartment with hardwood floors. The desk people are always nice and they accept all of our packages which is huge. No complaints at all.
