Be careful

I’ve never dealt with such horrible people. I rented a property at granite ridge in north east PA. They come and go AS THEY PLEASE. When I asked them not to come into my home while I sleep because I sleep armed, I was accuse of threatening to kill them and taken to court!!!!! Luckily I only ever communicated via email so I was able to prove there was no threat. The real issue was that they didn’t want to make repairs or keep up with the property, leaving us trapped in our home for days at a time... due to their refusal to deal with the snow and ice on the property - as specified in my lease agreement. They then refused to return my deposit until I threatened legal action. Absolutely terrible humans. Just plain nasty.

Property Manager at Granite Ridge Apartments responded to this review

We’re sorry to hear you feel this way. While we understand that frustrations can arise during difficult circumstances, we’d like to clarify several inaccuracies in your review.

Per the lease agreement, management is permitted to enter with proper...
notice to address maintenance issues. Our team provided appropriate 24-hour notice in accordance with the lease. While we strive to be respectful of tenants’ routines, we cannot tailor property maintenance around specific sleep schedules when urgent needs arise.

Regarding snow and ice removal, the property—along with the entire region—was impacted by a historic winter storm that caused widespread delays. This was during a declared state of emergency in Erie County, which limited even municipal and private plow operations. Nonetheless, we dispatched our maintenance team as soon as it was safe to do so, and made every reasonable effort under extreme conditions. Given the historical snowfall of 5-6 feet within 24 hours very few companies even had the equipment necessary to remove the snow.

As for your security deposit, it was processed according to standard procedures and applicable laws. If delays occurred, it may have been due to unresolved account matters, which are clearly communicated in our lease and exit paperwork.

We recognize that renting can be a deeply personal experience, and it’s never our intention for a tenant to feel unheard. That said, we stand by our team’s efforts to maintain the property professionally and within legal bounds.

We wish you the best going forward.
