We are very clean, yet shortly after moving in, roaches started appearing in the kitchen. Maintenance came to “spray” but it’s even worse now. (I’m writing this after seeing 5 roaches at once in my kitchen just now.) Also, work orders take weeks to be taken care of…. And they don’t even end up fixing it completely. As a first time renter, this has been a terrible experience so far, and I will not be renewing my lease. And a little fun fact: there’s tons of homeless cats in this neighborhood :(

My husband and I moved here from out of state and needed something fast. The model we saw was fine. We decided to move in because we were only planning to live here a year or two. The two bedroom apartment we received was old and out dated. The dining room light fixture is old and the other ceiling lights are metal tubes with holes punched in them. We brought this to their attention and were told that is how they are supposed to be. We’ve had problems with sewage smells, plumbing issues, AC... issues, and dryer problems. At first I thought we can stick it out for another year but there were too many irritations. We can’t wash the walls because they are painted with only primer so everything soaks into them. While we have some nice neighbors, a majority of the people are rude and there is constantly trash being scattered on the ground. This might have been nice a few years ago but it is not worth it now. Every apartment is full of ants and other bugs and exterminators are constantly coming out to fumigate. The people running the complex make threats and steal things off your patio. They constantly enter your apartment without notice. One of my neighbors complained staff walked in on her while she was in the shower. Came home the other day with my daughter and there were cops with their guns drawn kicking in someone's door during a drug raid. Those people still live in the complex. People... sit in the parking lot near the back of the complex and smoke dope every weekend and a few times during the week. Its unsafe to be outside at night. Cars stop all the time, people get out, go pick up their drugs and then peel out, no regards to the people living there. The rent gets raised $30 each year, but they make no improvements to your apartment. The water has a terrible smell several times a year and at least once a year the water comes out brown, but you don't get a notice that something is going on unless you call. Will be moving when my lease is up and even though I paid my rent on time each month, I am told I will have to fight to get my security deposit back. Read More

I just recently took a tour of a few model apartments they have set up at Pennswood and I was pleasantly surprised! They are definitely superior to the other local apartments for the same price. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and highly professional. The apartments themselves are very nice and spacious and you get your own private door and staircase leading up to your apartment so it feels like you have a house instead, the staircase is your property! The apartment is also 2 level with... staircases going to the upstairs bedrooms and bathrooms and the living area is downstairs. All the appliances are new and the kitchen has marble countertops and stainless steel sinks. There is also a washer and dryer on-unit. I am a first time renter, just leaving the nest. Pennswoods apartments has been a pleasant experience. The apartment I chose is a 1 bedroom, fully equiped with big closets and a much needes dishwasher. I'm on the 2nd floor with a balcony, with a great view of beautiful green trees. On a hot day during the summer there is a very nice size pool that tenants can swim in for free, if you want to bring a buddy, its only $6 for guests. Even though I don't have a washer and dryer in my apartment... there is a laundrymat connected to my building the only is 10 feet down the sidewalk. My first time being on my own has been an great experience. Anytime there is something that needs fixed,the maintenance responds right away. The people in the neighborhood have been very friendly.
