The apartments look great when you walk in. Once you move in, you realize that the building was made out of papier mache by a 3rd grade class at the school for the blind. The layout (at least of my apartment) is conducive to..well, nothing. The bedroom had no place for a dresser, a TV, or any furniture other than the bed. The floors are made of vinyl or something so any furniture leaves dents literally after 10 minutes in one spot, but you're ok if you have floating furniture. My windows... rattled anytime it was windy, and I'm not talking about a little rattle. I'm talking about a rattle that wakes you up out of a drunk sleep. The smaller units DO NOT have central air or heat. It's an unsightly box hanging on the wall in the living room. If you have someone living above you, be prepared for frustration. You can hear 2 ants making babies. I thought I had a sumo wrestler living above me, but it was a 4'8" 70 pound girl. As for the management...totally unresponsive. There is no leasing office that the residents can go if they need anything. I mean, they have an office on the 2nd floor, but residents don't have access to it. You can try calling. The phone will be answered maybe 1 out of 10 tries. You will get a response if you email them...in about a week. And they are SHADY. They make it sound like internet is included in the rent and that they set it up for you. NOT! They give you the option of paying $125/mo to rent a parking spot in the garage. They don't tell you that's your ONLY option. All of the street parking is city permit only, but the building residents don't qualify for a city permit. As with the furniture, you'll be ok if you have a floating car. Lastly, when you move out, do the walk-through with them or they will make things up to keep your deposit. The property manager was in my apartment less than a week before I moved out, and everything was fine, yet a few days later it was so bad that they withheld almost $300 from my deposit to clean a 500 square foot apartment. For those not good with measurements, 500 square feet is about the size of a large SUV. The only thing that's "luxury" about this place is the rent. The employees do nothing to stop the noise. Save yourselves, go elsewhere, or risk psychological breakdowns from not being able to sleep at night because your neighbors are fresh out of frat houses and they have no respect for other people

985 is an excellent location to live if you want to be close to all that short north has to offer. If you're looking for a quieter, calmer location, this may not be the place for you.

I love living here. It’s great to be right on high street and it’s obviously not cheap but it’s great value for the location. Amenities and quality of the apartment are both great.
