I lost internet service two weeks ago following a thunderstorm. After assessing the issue, Spectrum determined that a new line to my unit was required and offered to complete the repair. However, the leasing office denied authorization because the property uses Xiber internet service, which is included in the lease. When I attempted to use the Xiber service, it was nonfunctional, likely because it relies on the same damaged line Spectrum proposed repairing.
Two weeks later, neither the leasing... office or Xiber has provided an estimated timeline for resolution. While I appreciate the intent of offering residents included internet service, it should not come at the expense of timely support and reliability. The fact that Spectrum could restore service within days, while Xiber cannot provide a timeline at all, is unacceptable.
Because I work from home, a reliable and secure internet connection is essential. I have lived here for nearly two years and, until now, have had a positive experience. However, due to the ongoing lack of resolution, I will not be renewing my lease.
I hope that, moving forward, Birge & Held will consider a more reliable and responsive internet solution for its residents.

Don't do it, property is trash, staff is professional liar's.
Was lied to by the so called property manager who is still there for 14 months, after fulfilling terms of lease, went month to month, was told that we had to still give 2 month notice to leave. Talked to an attorney who said that it was only 30 days. Was month to month, never late on rent, made complaints about the lazy maintenance, Unprofessional management and staff in the office, was forced out. The excuse was not renewing lease, but it was for our complaints. We went into the office... last year and asked about getting back on a lease, was never contacted or heard back from the lazy, Unprofessional, so called property manager. The maintenance hides in their vehicles, just driving around, don't complete issues in a timely manner. One maintenance man hides for long periods of time by garages, in between parked vehicles, won't get out of vehicle, but watches shows on his phone. One maintenance man spends more time fishing or in the building where he lives then doing work. The whole staff does nothing about trash on the property, around the dumpsters. Nothing about speeders. Nothing about trespassers. They don't care about keeping the wildlife safe. The good maintenance man left. They charge you for trash that's included in rent, then a trash concierge for more money, you don't sign up, it's forced on you. The Birge and Held properties are all ran like this leftist, woke,feminist staff that have no qualities, qualifications, this applies to the maintenance as well. Its a money grab. Don't expect to have working ac in your apartment, have spoke to residents and tenants who have no working ac other issues, but refuse to say anything because they know the staff will do absolutely nothing about it but hide in the rental office.
Do not rent here, you will be sorry, find something else and RUN.

Disappointed
I am updating my review since Iast week when I toured the apartments. I decided to move forward with the application process, however, I can’t seem to get a response from anyone. I have left two voicemail messages and sent two emails. I’m not sure why, but this is very disappointing.

Do Not Rent From Here!!!
I lived here for 2 years and had so many problems that took so long to be addressed. My power went out for 2 days because a breaker went out, my neighbors had obnoxiously loud dogs, the washer/dryer worked 1/3 of the time and the appliances are as old as I am. Very unimpressed by the office and maintenance workers who don’t ever seem to be around when you need them. I highly recommend stay as far away from Chesapeake Landing as you can!!

Thank you for your feedback. We try our best to get maintenance issues fixed in a timely manner. Some work does require scheduling with outside vendors or suppliers which occasionally can cause a delay in completion. We always communicate with our... residents when that work is scheduled. We address excessive noise issues when they are reported to the leasing office. We strive for our residents to be happy with our maintenance team and satisfied with their work. We apologize if that was not the case as we take resident satisfaction very seriously at the community. Again, thank you for your feedback and we wish you well in the future.
