TERRIBLE Management
The management company for this building, Morgan Properties, has some serious problems. I’ve lived in one of their buildings for less than a year and have had to deal with a broken dishwasher (still not fixed months later), mice, unresponsive management, hot water issues frequently, and a last minute elevator renovation that will take more than 2 months, with less than a week of notice. They often don’t answer maintenance requests and the condition of our building is awful. Think twice before... moving in here, or anywhere managed by Morgan Properties. After 10 months here, I cannot wait to leave.

How do they have a 5 Star Review???
I have lived at Barrington Apartments for about a year. In the beginning (prior to signing the lease), the staff was very pleasant, professional and considerate. However, as soon as I signed the lease and moved in, the leasing office was quite the opposite. I can recall when I spoke to them regarding my dishwasher that was not working, granted this was the first week that I had moved in, and you would assume that it would be working, right? The office said that since it was not an emergency,... that it would not be addressed for at least 2 months. The staff was rude and unprofessional, I can recall thinking to myself, how is it appropriate to speak to people with such disrespect, I was in beyond disbelief. All in all, this is a very old building, so I would think that management would understand that and expect that things need to be fixed routinely. Also, so after they "remodeled" the bathroom, they literally painted the entire bathroom with white paint, including the bath tub as well as the sealed window. So with the rude leasing office and the lack of timely maintenance, this is by far the worst apartment I have lived in. Prior to living here I traveled a lot for work, and stayed in numerous apartments across the country, and Barrington Apartments has been the worst.
Happy apartment hunting,
JR

Don't Live Here
Living in this building has been disappointing. Management is unresponsive and maintenance does not exist. They ignore maintenance requests for months on end. Then they will call and ask if the work was ever done. It is frustrating that a building with potential and a good location is not being tended to. When COVID first started they stopped cleaning the building. It was filthy. The rent jumps significantly each year and for tiny apartments. The walls are very thin. Water is constantly shut off... and when it turns on again it is brown. For at least 6 months the emergency lights didn't work. After talking with other tenants I've found out that everyone is having the same miserable experience.

Beautiful building, BUT... (management)
We just formed a tenants group to deal with problems. Management is uncommunicative and negligent. Problems reported included drains backed up for days, liquid from other apartments backing up in sinks, broken laundry facilities, filthy common areas, squirrel, bat and mouse infestations, constantly overflowing garbage and recycling bins, unreliable hot water, old dirty, leaky windows. This site mentions "storage spaces" twice as amenities. The first thing they tell you when you move in is that... they're not required to provide storage. They have left abandoned junk and filth in storage areas for years, so few are usable. Now they are doing elevator renovations (long overdue) BUT they only gave a weeks notice that the elevator will be down for NINE WEEKS (in a 4-story building with elderly and/or disabled residents on the top floors). They dismiss tenant concerns about this. This could be a grand, lovely building in a great neighborhood, but not under this management.
