I’ve lived in true luxury buildings before—places with basketball courts, multiple pools, full gyms, saunas, walking paths, even a grocery store in the lobby. This building is marketed as “luxury,” but it’s simply not.
Pros: There is a top-level amenity space with a sauna and steam room. That said, even those aren’t reliable—they’re often not working during scheduled bookings, and there’s no enforcement, so anyone can walk in during your reserved time.
Cons: The appliances are below average.... The washer and dryer are small, inefficient, and have shrunk multiple items of clothing. You can’t properly wash or dry larger items like comforters without going to a laundromat. When we first moved in, the stove turned on but didn’t actually heat, and had to be replaced. The replacement still performs poorly. The microwave heats unevenly—parts of your food will be cold while others are hot. The fridge works, but it’s small and doesn’t have a proper ice maker.
The flooring is low-quality stick-and-peel, and many of the fixtures (door handles, lighting, etc.) feel cheap. I’m familiar with construction and renovations, and it’s clear corners were cut to achieve a certain look at the lowest cost.
Insulation is also an issue. In my bedroom, near the AC unit, there’s constant airflow like a window is open. This makes it harder to regulate temperature in both summer and winter. A previous super even admitted the unit was improperly fitted.
The smoking situation has been one of the biggest issues. Cigarette and weed smoke regularly enter my apartment to the point where it feels like I’m hotboxing my own space. I’ve raised this multiple times with management and staff and have gotten nowhere. At this point, I’m being forced to escalate to a city inspector.
Misleading claims: The building advertises things like 24/7 concierge and parking, which are either inconsistent or not delivered as expected.
Overall, this building falls far short of what it claims to be. Right now, it feels like a poorly executed attempt at luxury rather than the real thing.
Would not recommend. I genuinely wish I had stayed at my previous apartment.

Great apartments with flaws
I’ve lived here for a few months now and while the apartments inside are beautiful, the building itself has flaws.
Firstly, the key fobs only work on one of the 3 external doors, making it quite annoying to gain entry to the building. Secondly, there is only a concierge from 3pm onwards every day, even though we were told there would be 24 hour concierge.
Lastly and MOST IMPORTANTLY, the spa system is a total mess. You have to BOOK the sauna in advance and then hope the super actually turns... it on for you (which he usually doesn’t), and at the weekends this is done by the door man, so obviously it can’t be used until after 3pm. Overall this building has so much potential but has so many flaws right now for me to give it a good review. It gets 2 stars instead of 1 because the apartments internally are beautiful.

Modern Design, Cozy Feel
I was nervous that a modern apartment would feel cold, but my unit at Iron65 feels warm and livable. The finishes are minimal but not sterile, the lighting is soft, and there’s real character in the layout. It’s one of the rare new buildings that feels like it was designed for real people, not Instagram photos.

Sleek, Modern Apartments With a View
I toured a bunch of “modern apartments” in Newark and most felt sterile. Iron65 nails the balance—clean, sleek finishes with character. The floor-to-ceiling windows in my unit show off an amazing skyline view, and the open-concept layout makes it feel bigger than it is. It’s functional and beautiful.

You Can Tell It’s Well-Managed
Good property management makes a huge difference. Iron65 is always clean, issues get handled fast, and the front desk staff are actual humans—not just warm bodies sitting at a counter. It makes the whole building feel taken care of. I’ve lived in “luxury buildings” before that were chaos behind the scenes—this isn’t one of them.
