I have lived at Glenwood Apartments since November 2024. The property is managed by Shamco Management. My experience has involved repeated denials, unresolved concerns, and poor follow-through.

I was told my credit would not be run again if I later transferred to a larger apartment. After that policy changed, I was led to believe... my income, rent-payment history, and standing as a resident would matter. Ultimately, my transfer was denied because of the credit screening.

I offered to pay the entire cost of replacing my round-front toilet with a high-rise, elongated-bowl toilet so I could use my bathroom more comfortably. Elongated toilets already exist in multiple apartments, yet my tenant-funded request was denied. I was told my toilet is functional and management can deny upgrades. I repeatedly asked why they would deny such a simple request when I was paying the entire cost, but that question remains unanswered.

My vanity top cracked during ordinary use, and more than two months later I am still waiting for it to be replaced.

Elevator outages are recurring, including one lasting nearly two months. During that outage, I offered a suggestion to improve efficiency while the building relied on one elevator. When I followed up, I was told, “You can always take the stairs.”

Other problems include slamming doors, dog barking, low-hanging branches near the garbage/recycling area, and rodents and roaches. Residents routinely leave garbage bags on top of the cans instead of inside them, attracting pests. Community shopping carts and laundry baskets are frequently not returned to the basement.

Communication with Shamco has been equally frustrating. I tried for more than three weeks to arrange a conversation with senior management after being offered the opportunity to discuss my concerns, but it never occurred. When I tried to escalate further, I was directed back to the same management level I was trying to address.

I pay my rent and respect the property. I don't expect every request granted, but I expect reasonable concerns considered, commitments honored, questions answered, and management willing to work with residents.

Unfortunately, that has not been my experience. I cannot recommend this property. STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS.

I have lived here 4 years. They have come a long positive way clearing out problem tenants. Keeping building clean and amenities up to date.

Clean, well maintained and has a gym in the building! Close to the metro and supermarkets

Glennwood is beautiful, the amenities are amazing. Instantly it caught my attention. When I went to see the apartment chelsea and the super jose were soo welcoming and respectful. They answered all my questions and helped me with everything. this place is awesome cant wait to move in.

I have been a resident here for many years, and seeing the new property manager that knows what they are doing is like a breath of fresh air. I will be here for more years to come
