I wish I could give this place a good review. Great location, horrible management. If any of these apply to you, I would avoid this place:
1) You look forward to enjoying the amenities.
-This year, everyone's rent hiked a month or so before we were told that the main office would be remodeled and nearly every amenity would be closed. The grill area was moved, but the best they offered for the pool or gym were temporary passes (15 days) to local spots that we had to front the cost of before... they 'reimbursed' us. Inequitable offerings as not every tenant has the same availability to travel or front costs. They are making us pay MORE for LESS.
2) You enjoy being engaged in your community whether for fun or activism.
-A group of tenants formed a Council to address inconsistencies with communication between Management and Tenants. We asked management to be a part of the council as we actively wanted their input. We were told "It's nice y'all found some comradery but we will only talk to you individually". The tenants have only tried to work with them, the office has actively tried to squash any and all efforts to organize as a community.
3) You're a responsible pet owner who prefers walking safely on a sidewalk over muddy and dark trails.
-We have *literally* received a note saying that anyone who allows their pet to walk in the grass next to the sidewalks will "have their pet removed". This is verbatim, I still have the letter.
4) You like sleep and/or you work from home.
-There will be a minimum of three people with leafblowers and/or lawn mowers out at 9AM *sharp* every. single. day. This is not an exaggeration. It is a waste of money, incredibly harmful to the environment, and regularly exceeds city noise ordinance levels.
5) You prefer that the people in charge of the place you live to have the barest level of human decency and empathy.
-The office will not work with you. Period. It does not matter the circumstances you find yourself in, it does not matter how/when/what you ask them. If they've decided on something, they will refuse to hear you out. They have told us they would call us back on issues and then instead snuck to our front door and posted a letter response.
6) You value security/safety in your community.
-The community has asked for more street lighting and cameras in the parking lot for 2+ years. We've had at least FIVE catalytic converters stolen from cars in our lot. Crickets.
As a resident, I urge you to look elsewhere.

Home Sweet Home
WWofLJ was my home from 2002-2017. I would not live anywhere else but here as far as apt. living is concerned. Great location, beautiful grounds, access to Lake Johnson and its trails, well-kept interiors with lovely upgrades, large apts., walk-in closets (in some floorplans), large screened porches, and privately owned! You get a comparable bang for your buck! Office staff is knowledgeable, courteous, responsible, and on top of any issues. If I ever went back to apt. living again, I'd move... back here in a minute!

Hidden Gem of Raleigh
This is truly the hidden gem of Raleigh. We feel so close to everything here (downtown, NCSU, Crossroads for shopping, main highways) yet we live in what is truly a little oasis of nature. The lake and trails are what intrigued us, but the management team, the beautifully updated apartments, the awesome pool setup, the fantastic screened porch and the price are what will keep us. Not to mention every resident here that we’ve met has been so kind and neighborly. You tend to forget you even live... in an apartment here. You don’t find apartment communities like this anymore so we are truly grateful that we landed here!
