Been here since the day I moved in. I immediately reported this to the office and they said they'd send pest control. I asked questions about what they planned to do and they ignored me. Pest control came(allegedly) nothing changed. So I kept bringing it up and I specifically asked them to close off any entry points instead of just treating the problem. They agreed. I left a note for pest control telling them exactly where I saw the roaches... entering my unit. They did nothing. I went in person to complain some more and they had the nerve to insinuate that I brought the roaches even though they were present since day one before I ever moved my belongings in. I've lived in multiple apartments and I've NEVER lived with roaches until now. Ever.

They have made no efforts to solve the issue or communicate to check in to see if the problem is ongoing. They don't care. Which leads me to believe that this is normal around here and they expect tenants to shut up and deal with it.
On top of that, even though pest control is included in your rent you have to call them every week in order to get past control to come otherwise they'll skip your apartment.

I've been here for a while and havent unpacked any of my belongings, no food, no clothes, nothing. I've spent a few hundred bucks trying to solve this myself. I haven't slept in my own home that I pay rent except for a couple times since moving in. I no longer sleep in my own home because im scared, anxious and Ive had respiratory issues since moving in. I'm miserable living here.

I 100% regret signing a lease here and im writing this hoping that somebody else will see it and decide to keep looking elsewhere. Don't make my mistake! Read More

I’ve rented some not so nice places, but never have I lived somewhere as horrendous, disgusting, and unsafe as Crabtree crossing.
The buildings themselves aren’t actually that old, but they don’t maintain them. I had water coming into my apartment and due to never properly fixing the leaks a severe mold issue developed, there was something causing the wood cabinets to smell to the point that I couldn’t keep wooden cutting boards or spoons in them because they would start smelling like the... cabinets, electrical issues caused my fridge to shut off 4 times and they refused to have an electrician come out (fire hazard obviously)- cost me about 600 over a few months and they gave me a $200 gift card. The AC was so loud I couldn’t sleep. NO HOT WATER- Maintenance got it up to lukewarm, but said there was nothing else they could do to get it actually hot. Roaches and spiders everywhere no matter what I did.
I ended up having to move out early because after some heavy rain the mold and smell of the apartment became so bad I couldn’t stand to be in there. They did send maintenance, but they said it could be awhile before the leaks were “fixed” again and all they did was clean the mold off the walls (not sufficient lol), they also said they wouldn’t test it see if it was harmful mold… yet still made me pay my lease out and I don’t have the energy to go to court.
There are cheap places that aren’t disgusting and unsafe. DO NOT MOVE THERE ): especially to apartment 220 W because my guess is they’re just going to paint over the mold, spray some air freshener, and the place will reek by the time you get a couple of boxes moved in. Lived in this community for 2 years, never had a late payment but when the time came for me to leave because of my move to another state, the experience was horrible. They changed the notice period from 30 days to 60 days without proper intimation to residents. I went to office to notify them about my leaving, the person in office asked me to wait to talk to manager. Went to office 3 times but manager was never available. They did not even honor the first date when I went to them because I did... not give a written notice. Manager was not helpful at all and simply stated that this is legal. This place is awful. The house was falling apart and they refused to repair anything. We had to buy our own appliances because they were broken down and never repaired. While we lived there I met many very unhappy neighbors, and I watched many of them move away and saying that the office manager made sure that they could not buy a home. In fact, that is what she did to us. She refused to give us a rent payment history without a 30 day notice to vacate. This is illegal. The mortgage company we... were working with told us to report it, which we did. However management was not interested. One of the other comments here say "don't disagree with office staff"...very true. I witnessed one of the residents almost attacking the office manager once. I am not surprised. She had a way of treating people like garbage. Other office workers don't stay there longer than a few months in general. There is a very high turn over of office staff, apart from the manager. She was vindictive, and she stopped at nothing. She lied about just about everything. Also, don't fall for the advertised home sizes. The largest homes are not all living space that they advertise. I love the complex. It's family friendly, clean, peaceful, bright and affordable. I moved from NY and was generally concerned about security. My friend lived in the complex and I fell in love after my first visit. The management office is knowledgeable, friendly and extremely helpful. I also enjoy the events for the residents, such as pizza night, bagel days, or cupcake weekends. I'm happy hear and hope to stay for quite some time.
